One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make.

Bluelab combo meter (measures pH, ppm and Temperature) $196 or
Bluelab ph pen (measures temp as well) $78 and Bluelab Truncheon (measures ppm) $92
only 25 dollar difference! HELP

I'm lost is the decision between the three or just the two ? There's a big difference in price from 2 out of the 3 obviously. If you got the money the the tri-meter is the way to go if your using it in a res or its pretty stationary.

If not I would look into the blue-lab ph-ppm pen which I seen today. I have the blue lab truncheon which i like and have no complaints just didn't have the ph/ppm pen when i went years ago.

truncheon is just ppm though. while blue lab makes a ph/ppm pen that I would much rather have myself. You buy the pen Ill trade you the truncheon and eco ph pen. lol

ya your right it was hanna my bad.

I had the hanna a while back with a friend but things went sour and it went "missing". I liked it though just don't have any shop's around me with them in stock. I seen it online though for around a hundred something and its a ph,temp, and ppm pen all in one.

If you buy the Combo Meter and it fails, you have nothing and it will be a replaceable item no matter in time you ll find out . Buying a Meter and Truncheon will give you longer run for your money .

If one breaks at least you have the other too work with , even with one down you ll be close with guesstimating by having the other unit .. The combo meter will fail you completely when its time is done and then youll be left in the dark so to say ..

Blue Lab Truncheon sticks last years and years , meters not always so .. I average a year at max with mine no matter the brand or level purchased ..

Bluelab Combo. I've got one and love it, very durable, accurate, and almost never need to replace batteries. It's nice because you can set the meter down and leave the probes submersed in your rez.

Combo meters are sweet for res/controller monitoring, I still require a pen when mixing up batches of nutes. Either way, get tooled up. It's worth it.

I use drops, but yea... you do have to know what yellowish-orange looks like.

Plus, I feel like a fuckin scientist mixing shit up in a little beaker.

thanks bro! hey guys the Bluelab combo meter works based off of 500ppm scale :X not good right? we use ppm 700? I may have to go with the truncheon because I dont feel like doing math everytime to get an accurate reading? is this true
