Do you ever grow anything other than DR Green thumbs?

It would be nice to see how you make out with another breeder!

I have grown out stuff from a few breeders, even some local breeders, but so far, nothing compares. As a matter of fact, not a single plant from any of them has remained in my garden. Having said that, Im not opposed to trying some others. Any breeder and strain suggestions?

In this thread I have a couple plants from other breeders....

Hello Dr.
I noticed that you used promix hp on the grow that yielded 31.5 oz and your using promix bx on this one. Which one do you prefer and do you amend it or use it right out of the bag? I was also wondering how soon after they pop do you start feeding them? I'm considering switching from ffof to promix is why I ask.

That may have been a misprint. I had been using the HP but I think I've had the BX for the last 2 grows. Either way, I don't see much difference in the way they are growing....Im sure someone knows but not me.
I don't amend it, just straight out of the bag.
I like it better then the FFOF because there is nothing in it as far as nutes go and it's easier for me to keep control.
I start feeding my seedlings 1 week after the first true leaves appear. Same on a transplant....1 week after trans.
But know this.....the promix is not true soil and so when you use it you are running passive hydro and have to treat it accordingly.I keep the PH at 5.7 or as close to that as possible. If you make the switch get back to me and i can give you more details on how i work with it.

very nice! yea don't quit growing and journaling dr.gs gear I have enjoyed the threads I have read of yours here on riu and also over on the Michigan growers form. definitely rooting for a superb harvest for you as i have wondered about this strain and also because people hate on doc g so much. I have enjoyed the 2 strains i have grown of his and look foreward to growing more.

is that a 3 pack for seeds he sent you? tell him to sell me a 3 pack. or 5. I can only think more people would be growing them if he sold half packs. also the complainers who find $150 or $200 to much for 10 seeds probly would have no issues if he sold 5 for $75 or $100. I myself would try more. if he sold singles for $15 nobody would see any issue other than 1 is not the way to find a decent plant. darn now i'm complaining as well
ok sorry for jabbering kinda toasty today.

No, it wan't a 3 pack. I just forgot to take the picture before i had already removed 3 beans and had them in paper towel. I seem to do that a lot....lol.
By the way...I just noticed Doc has the Iranian Auto on sale for $100 per 10 pack.

yea I seen that as well. I think I will get some for summer. i realy enjoyed the ones i have grown.
I've read a few of your journals, perhaps more but I don't recall if you grow outside as well? only wondering because I am interested if you have grown any of docs gear (I hate that word, seeds they are) outdoors?

I dont do outdoor. There is a guy by the name of lilman that does a lot of Doc's gear outdoors. He checks in from time to time here at RIU....maybe you can find him. He is a good guy...tell him Dr Gruber sent you.

Well, the Chem4 is certainly awesome which means the OZ has some big shoes to fill. Doc has never steered me wrong and he has high praise for this strain so I expect it to be special.

how would you rate the veg speed so far compared to the chem 4?

Very slow.
These have been so slow that i'm thinking i had a problem somewhere. This winter has been really cold and nasty and my rooms have been cooler and less humid then i want. It could be these got hit by the cold at the wrong time and slowed way down.
Anyway, they seem to be turning around now.

no doubt. im curious if they do speed up il check in with you later about that. this is the only other strain im curious about other than chem 4 and for my style of growing i need extremely fast veg growth.

Slow growth or not they do look very healthy and happy.

I have a strain we call SNOG and it is the slowest plant I have ever had until it is established... Then it grows as fast as everything else.
