well including the other stuff...well here if you make under 16k you get pretty much 100% back actually not counting ss and medicare at the end of the year.

Oh and VAT is our equivalent of Fair Tax, so the 23% VAT is applied at the bar too (plus duty and excise taxes)

Europe is more expensive for anything period. I never went to Ireland but I have been to most of europe. using the same analogy I drink Heineken, in Netherlands its twice as much as America.

I'm just under $11k ($56/yr over the poverty line) and I had to pay $144, last year.

When I was young one year I didn't work, only for like a month and didn't work at all the year before that. I made 15k in that one month tax free. I then had to pay 3000$..I mean you look at that and you think...Oh he made 15k he can afford 3k to the mafia.....but the reality of the situation was I was poor as fuck and that all went to debt lol so they basically just took all of a poor persons money..thats how I see it anyway..I was pretty much homeless....

mine 2 just saying some examples. I have been all over the place from homeless to well off in my life. I don't believe any taxes are fair for anyone. I think taxes are violent theft .

Bathed at a swimming pool place, trial health club memberships
Ate at restaurants
Went to movies
Went to work everyday
All came to an end when the police rousted me at 3 in the morning wanting to know what i was doing sleeping in the back of a car

That is my pension. I am not required to make quarterlies. I just did some quick checking and the limits have been changed. Last year I was $56 over the poverty line but this year I am $226 under the poverty line but I don't know what my taxes will be for this year.

Ah, thanks man. I really appreciate that but I think I can handle it. That's why I moved here. I could not live anywhere in the US without assistance but here, I live a pretty good life.
My complaint is like yours. I'm not bitching about the amount, I'm pissed it's anything, at all, especially for someone so far down the scale. I mean they could eliminate income tax for everybody under 1M/yr and only charge them 1% and I'd still think it's wrong. Theft is wrong no matter who is doing it or why.
