O Me, O My

I guess I need to start this by saying I believe I owe the new growers here an apology. It seems the way that I chose to try and share a truth made me come across like a chest beaten ego fool and that was never my intent !!! The truth is that I am a humble quiet guy once you get to know me.

Any one can get on the internet and say anything and because I grow so differently there are many that cry bullshit to a lot of the things I share, like the fact that my garden never stinks, that I have never owned a carbon scrubber. Well, the only way I knew to prove it was to invite other members into my garden and sure enough they came back on here and reported that I was tellin the truth, my garden is wide open and it doesn't stink.

I have also tried to share that the herb can be better, you see I'm an old hippie that grew up in the 60's & 70's, I smoked that really good weed that the old timers remember. They say today's weed is not your fathers weed and they are right but have it backwards as your fathers weed was so much better than all the generic hyped fake strains of today and you simply just need to ask any old timer that smoked those old school strains.

But because us old timers are a dying breed, I once again invited growers into my home and smoked my herb with em. Once again they got on the forums and posted smoke reports and verified that what I was saying was true. And the visitors kept comin and kept postin, we would have nice talks, smoke some herb and share a few beans. Hell I have a visitor from Washington comin tomorrow, a smart dispensary owner lookin for an edge in today's growing weed market. 8)

I do realize that when I say I'll put my herb up against all comers that it comes across as boasting and egotistical but honestly that is not my intent. My intent has always been to merely share that there are simple ways to grow better herb and I have always known that the growers that grow for yield and money would disagree with me. My intent has always been to reach out to personal growers and medical growers that simply grow for themselves and want better herb, better medicine. Beyond that I merely wanted to share the art form to a younger generation so that it wouldn't die.

Look around, how many growers know about or are talking about early translucent amber trics? How many are aware that it is a rare genetic trait found only in Sativa's ? I have been breeding for this trait for years and I have several strains that do it, one even named Amber lol. And I give these strains away for free all the time to insure the trait is not lost !!!

I know as soon as I post this the trolls will come, I know they will bash the notions I share. flowering with T5's, canopy temps of 92 degrees, boiling the roots to speed up the cure, sulfur rich mediums, odd light timings. And when growers come in and verify these notions the trolls will call em my posse lol such is the way at RIU it seems, but I invite you to my journal to see that it does in fact work ,,,,,,

And I hope that as new growers looking for the best possible herb that you keep an open mind, think outside the box and try new things, experiment for yourselves !!!

Funny how us old hippies tend to find the same things as true! The ways of growing converge and I like S and K in higher amounts..
Yup, we get hammered by the unsure and sure alike.....We see the same ole arguments over and over and over.....We try and shed light only to be ridiculed for our knowledge.....Yet we stay and continue to attempt help and share experience...

Been there, doing that!

Wish I could have hammered the like button more! The ole + rep to Riddle!

But I am sure they will protest

I've never seen any of your threads, I will check out your journal later.. I got a friend who flowers with T5's his product is very good but a bit airy.. What are you attributing the " no smell" garden to? More sulphur? I assume its less stinky strains.

I agree that the "old time" pot of yesteryear was better than today's. I've just been growing a couple years and still haven't got it down the way I'd like...my cure is never as good as I'd like it...always smells like hay even though I've followed many of the suggested cure methods...perhaps attritubted to too much "sugar leaf" left on the buds? I don't know....

One can infer something very strongly without actually stating it outright
Very True, still not my intent and there are a lot of growers that adapt some of my stuff into their grows without actually doin it "my way"

and I honestly could think of no other way to verify than to invite folks over and share, not my fault if they post things like it was the best high ever etc. Hell lilroach posted that mine was better and he kinda hated me for it LOL

I think it is the way the written word is read, unless of course the "writer" specifically states a remark... if that makes sense... haha... too many people have forgotten how to communicate with all of the typing... and way too many people "read between the lines"... just my opinion....

@RM3 I think that there is a fine line when it comes to trying to break stereotypes and habits that folks are used to.
Most people are pretty fixed in their ways and anything contrary to how they do things is viewed as criticizing what works for them.
I've enjoyed reading your threads since I joined riu and it helped motivate me to try some things myself and I too have been called a fool or crazy for not sticking with the normal grow tactics.
I thought people would want to know that there are alternate ways to do things but not many have an open mind.
Trying to push the envelope and help people is a commendable trait and I for one have appreciated your input.

^^^^^what he said....I find I'm the type of person who digs routine... I find a routine that works I kinda get stuck on it so to speak...I have to consciously make myself try new things... get out of my comfort zone....I got stuck on the new fruity strains of the day but realized I have a strain with that high and tastes of yesteryear that seems to be in my garden every grow and growing more of it every time . I've seen your grows and were wowed by them...you use 4 eight foot 4 bulb panels I believe...awesome.... rock on brother

If we were all in the same town, probably more than half of us would get along, share ideas, drink and smoke together and actually learn from each other, at least that is my belief with "my generation" ... as an old gentleman farmer (as in real farming, up at 4am and in bed by 10pm to do it all again the next day), I know that our "community" of farmers near and far always talked, compared techniques, shared ideas and actually helped each other. Of course we had differences in styles and didn't always see eye to eye on certain things, but even then it always led to something good. Some of us had soft/polite ways of talking to others, while others seemed direct and "as a matter of fact"... but thats just everyone being themselves and what makes all of us unique. In the end, not all of us will always get along, but not respecting another's opinion or way of doing things, just because it isnt your way, is what used to get people in the old west shot...
