NL auto and Pineapple Express auto

I decided to go ahead and pop a couple of auto seeds today. I planted 1 NL auto from Nirvana and 1 Pineapple Express auto from Barney's. I was pretty successful in planting my seeds straight into soil with the bagseed grow I also have going, so I decided to start these the same way. Also, I went ahead and put them in what I want to be their final pot. They are about 1.5-2 gallon pots, don't have a lot of room, so gotta keep it small. I've heard that autos can be even more sensitive to nutes than reg seeds, so instead of a MG/Perlite mix that I started my other grow in, I put these in a mix of mostly plain potting soil/perlite. I did mix in just a tad of the MG potting mix, just so there'd be a tiny bit of nutes to help the ladies along, but not much. It's close to 50/40/10. 50% plain potting soil, 40% Perlite and 10% MG potting mix. This is not just a small auto grow, but it's also a small CFL auto grow. When the stick their legs out, I'm gonna subject em to about 6 2700 CFLs and 1 big 6500 that is the tube type of screw in CFL. I know they still go through a short veg stage, so I figured I'd mix up the spectrum. My thinking on the tube CFL is that I'm going to position it to where it lines up between the plants down around the bottom. Hoping to get some light underneath. Any thoughts? Any input/criticism would be greatly welcome. This is only my 2nd attempt. Well, technically my 1 1/2 attempt since my first grow is still going. Thanks RIU folks!

Hello there!
My thoughts on a small cfl auto grow: from my experience the autos grow fast, a small area with small pot will keep them small, they really like 5 gallon pots, from beginning to end, and you might get somewhere with that cfl setup, but id say ditch it and go at least 400w hps. good choice with soil, hydroponics made things harder, and moves things even quicker, not great to learn on.

My thoughts on the seeds: good choice, and good seed bank. my first run with autos i choose pineapple express from barneys and it was small due to my setup, but potent, tasty, covered in crystals. all barney's seeds ive had,6, all were females.

just my little input, i wish you luck happy growing!

Thanks! So big question here. Is there a pineapple smell and/or taste when you smoke it? That's why we go it and hope it turns out that way.

No pics yet, because there's nothing to really show yet. I popped the seeds directly in the soil 4 days ago and have been misting the top a couple times a day and I now see teeny tiny leaves pushing dirt aside! Both of them are pushing at the same time, so they start getting their direct light now. Hopefully in 10-12 weeks I'll have a couple nice lil ladies to chop down. I'll get some pics up in a couple of days when there's leaves to see.

OK, so I lied, well kinda. I went ahead and snapped a couple pics of the seedlings. They are hard to see, but they are there. The Pineapple Express, 2nd pic, is a bit harder to see, her first lil leaves are more brown than green 7.18.1am.NL.jpg7.18.1am.PE.jpg

So, I can't help lying. I said I wasn't gonna post pics yet, because there's not anything to post, but I'm going to, again... Tonight, there's green showing on both of the little ladies. 7.19.12amNL.jpg7.19.12amPE.jpg

So, it's a week since I planted my new girls, and about 3 days since I saw the baby leaves push the seed shell though the dirt. The dark pot is my Pineapple Express auto(Penny) and the light colored pot is the Northern Lights auto(Ava). here they are! 7.21.12.Pm.Penny.jpg7.21.12Pm.Ava.jpg

It's day 10 since I put the seeds in the dirt, about day 6 since they popped their pretty lil heads up and the girls are getting a little bigger. Obviously there's not much to em at this time, but here's a couple pics anyway.7.24.12am.Ava.jpg7.24.12am.Penny.jpg

They are still small, but it's amazing how much they can grow in as little as a day....I planted these 2 weeks ago, about 9 days ago they sprouted. Here they are today.7.27.5am.Ava.jpgIMG_20130727_045030.jpg

Up to now, I've only been spraying the top with a water bottle. At what point can I actually start watering these ladies without being too worried about drowning them. I'm still a bit worried that they are too short to handle fully wet soil, but I don't want my roots to dry out either. Also, when do most folks start introducing nutes to autos? Thanks!

Figured I'd share an update in the form of pics. Not a lot happening. They are just growing. I'ts been about 16 days since seeds were put in soil, about 12 days since they sprouted. I just started pouring a little water in the pot, instead of misting the top, a day ago. I'm running a mixed spectrum of 10 CFLs in soil that is 10% MG Potting Mix, 45%plain soil and 45% Perlite. Penny is in the darker colored pot, she's an autofem Pineapple Express from Barneys, the gray pot is Ava and she is a Nirvana Northern Lights autofem. Both were ordered from Herbies.

Any input/criticism/advice would be greatly appreciated. These are the second grow I've started, probably will be my first harvest, seeing as the ladies in my first grow are only in about week 2 of flowering. Thanks everyone!

Penny, dark pot,Barney's Pineapple Express is outgrowing Ava, the Nirvana NorthernLights. They are about 15 days from sprout. I think they are looking ok. The only thing I'm not liking is that Penny isn't very centered in her pot, but I don't think that should cause too much of an issue. Any input??????????

I can't get over how fast these ladies are growing! Especially Pineapple Express Penny. Sometimes, I can see visible growth in a few hours time. It's crazy.

21 days from seed. about 18 from sprout. Dark pot is Pineapple Express, light pot is Northern Lights. The Penny is really outpacing Ava. How are my ladies looking so far? I noticed today that they are starting to show their pubes, so that's a good thing. Any input would be appreciated. 8.4.1am.Penny.jpg8.4.1am.Ava.jpg

The ladies are growing nicely. Well, Penny is growing a LOT and Ava is kinda just bushy. Also, I've noticed that Penny's(Pineapple Express) leaves are starting to yellow, almost like they are fading. From what I've read, it sounds like cal/mag deficiency. Any thoughts???
