nirvana PPP + 78w of cfl

i was planning on waiting until my new grow setup was, well setup
but this little beast is interesting enough, so posting was needed
my setup is an aluminum flashing tube, 38 inches tall and 15 inches in diameter
fixture is a pizza dish with 3 cfl's attached
ghetto, but has worked well for a couple of northern lights grow

so i was planning to LST this plant, but squat doesn't do her justice
this plant is 4 inches tall, over a foot wide
so im kicking her into flower as is, hopefully a her
my new chamber will have only 16 inches of head room(LST and stealth)
maybe a try at super cropping if things get too tight

My plant looks simalar to that right now did you say you were throwing it into flowering now??

just set the timer today, so 12/12 starts tomorrow
branching like crazy, i've got 6 nodes in between 2 inches
what are you running now? the PPP is supposed to have plenty of sativa in it, sure doesn't look like it to me

day 20(or so), 3 days of flower, bit over 6 inches tall
hats off to nirvana on this strain, this is one vigorous grower
if this is a male, i'd hate(actually love) to see a female
this thing is packed solid, almost too compact, no smell at all so far

so a major step taken, update seems in order
after a number of plans and false steps
1 of which is a scrog chamber that may have to wait a while before being used
tube has been shrunk by 14 inches down to 24 inches

this is LST territory, so LST i did
pulled the top over quite firmly, kind of nerve wracking actually
the main stem has gotten quite thick over the lower 4 inches
upper part was still nice and pliable
so the upper shoot has been moved over about 4 inches
much as i dared to pull, used string and a white twist tie, not fancy
but for those that are more expert at LST than i, feel free to advise

i have tried LST once, which didn't work out
was working with small pots and a PC setup, so can't fault the technique
this time is incredible, grow space is filling up real fast
and the PPP showed sex after 7 days of 12/12, female!

i look at it now, and what a joke
this is obviously going to need some kind of fan leaf control

Wow! Looking good man!! you said your just using CFL's too right?? lookin good! If the leaves are really a big problem.. you can just cut off the side branches... like completely cut them off.... adn have JUST the main cola growing straight up. Pretty much just lollipopping the plant.. and instead of a nice size cola... and a bunch of side nugs.. you have NO side nugs.. but a HUMONGOUS cola.. lol. a lot of people do that.... Just an idea if space is really limited.. cuz ur plant will put all of its energy into making the main cola.

But yea it is pretty bush.. CFL's tend to make a bushy plant!! lol. I used only CFL's for my plant too.. I had about 10 tho.. and have a total of 330 watts. lol. I got a lil carried away.. I was plannin on growin 2 plants.. but the other 1 jsut didnt wanna grow.. soo i threw all my lights on my White Widow.. I got my WW from nirvana as well. and lemme tell you... this plant fuckin took off!! Shes HUGE!! I only vegged her for 3 weeks... i was gonna do 4.. but said fuck it.. I'll do 3.. and thank god i did! lol. mine is the same way as yours... very very very bushy.. alotta the leaves (b4 i cut them all off) were growing into the wall..

You can go to the dollar store.. like Dollar tree or sumthin.. adn buy some of the twisty ties.. the sell a big roll of it.. adn just twisty tie all your branches to the main stem.. and force them to grow stright up. =) that will work too.

kingdavid918 - plant does look very indica, i know there is indica in there, but wasn't thinking anything like this

chb444220 - still thinking over on pruning - i think i will train as far as i can, then prune as a last resort
my plan was to try the multi cola grow - lst is a new experience so i'm learning as i go

got a white widow near harvest? i will have to check that out, sounds like a good grow
the main stem of this PPP looks very white widow, very thick and smooth
at least that's what WW stems looked like in grow logs

how old was she when you put her into flowering?

she was vegged for 17 days

Glad you liked the journal. =) and when I was talking about trying to tie down the leaves (not sure if u got confused or i am confused by ur response. lol) i didnt mean like "train it. not sue if that was watt u were referring to.. or if u are really training it. lol. but if you just tie the BIG fan leaves under.. almost just tuck them under.. there will be plenty of light.. and your not really training/stressing your plant.

i had to open my mouth about how it was so indica, and its main stem is i guess
but the branches are pretty sativa, stretching like hell

ooo ok. lol. Thats funny.. alot of plant are indica/sativa mixes.. but its wierd to see a pant with an indica main stem.. adn sativa branches.. lol. well.. you got the best of both worlds then. =)

not sure what i got here, it's interesting
tell you the truth it looks like some WW's i've seen in grow logs
very squat main stem with large branches
WW is part of the PPP ancestry, WW and some african genetics

at about 2 weeks of 12/12, flower is kicking in pretty good
so this is LST, it seems to be working, but i find it a bit nerve wracking
getting in and out of grow chamber is a delicate operation
here she is, a lot of plant in a little space

not quite 3 weeks of flower
and i'm happy with what i'm seeing, bud formation is looking good
i was really concerned on how this would take to a micro lst
the answer looks to be, 'just fine'
