Ive read somwhere that its like poison to your plants. I smoke weed around them but never cigarettes. Also if you are going to handle your plants after smoking its a good idea to wash your hands good. If you think about it the plant is respirating co2 and giving off oxygen. So the chemicals in the tobacco smoke could absorb in to the plants.

NEVER smoke tobacco products around marijuana plants unless you do not care about it. Tobacco will stunt and or kill the plant. It is very much like poison to tobacco. ^^^^ is correct the leaves will inhale the trace poison products in tobacco and the plant will die.

I have been testing something out over the past two grows that i have done regarding clones.I used to smoke while i was pottering around seeing to the plants and what ever else needed doing. But i can say 100% but not washing your hands if you do smoke when touching young seedling or be it clones does have a effect on both.I used to have about a 80% rate cloneing but has daft has it sounds since doing everything clean and makeing sure hands are washed and new razors are used to clone the clones are 100% better looking. The percentage has also gone up to100% so there is something to be learnt from not haveing nicotine around the plants while in growth. You only have to put you tongue on the end of your fingers after a cig to see what a cigarette chemical wise leaves behinde.

Wrong, uninformed, and real sensationalist. NO, your plants will not die. I smoke when I clone, I smoke in my grow room when I water too. It's a fairly enclosed space and things can get a bit smoky, know how many plants it has killed? Wait for it... None, not one, of hundreds of tiny weed plants has ever died of secondhand smoke. Seriously now? You're just being silly. If cigs were that bad for plants, there'd be dead areas around every butt on the ground. Interestingly enough, I have found many cig. butts buried in lush, green, grass.

So the joy in this post is that for a small amount of money, you can poison your plants with nicotine and they will love you for the smoke that kills bugs and the drugs the plant is on. weird right. whats happens if u burn pot around plants? they get scared and produce more poison, which in this case is THC. Neonictinoid pesticides are the cause of colony collapse disease in wild and farmed bee's. This has been proven as of late last year.....Neonictinoid insecticides include Imidacloprid......

These insecticides are not derived from nicotine, but have the same "blocking" to be as a postsynaptic acetylcholine receptor agonist, the same as nicotine.

As of 2013, virtually all corn planted in the United States was treated with one of these two insecticides and various fungicides. As of 2014, about a third of US soybean acreage was planted with neonicotinoid treated seeds, usually imidacloprid or thiamethoxam.

I forget what college it was published the paper last year that proved the link between CCD in bee's and Neonictinoid insecticides...I think I linked it from another thread here though.

I read something a long time ago about carbon monoxide from cigarette smoke potentially being bad for co2 uptake, I can't cite my source on that. I toured one guys grow and he smokes in his grow room, that's the only room in the house he does it in because of the carbon filter. his plants looked great, so I have shitty evidence on both sides of the argument

Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) on petunia
The "real" issue ain't the cigarettes but the Tobacco and the possibility of the tobacco carrying the cursed TMV tobacco mosaic virus, you got that
