you can always dump the bottle in a bucket of bleach water 1 cap of bleach to a gallong of water. then wipe it clean. to be honest i wouldnt really worry about bacteria on it. dont think it will bother the roots, i have seen numerous threads of people who do it.

llike i said im no hydro guy just offering feedback from what i have read in the past.

I use to do the bottle trick, as I said earlier, it becomes a real hassle when you've got a gigantic plant on top of your lid! I also started to feel the same way about cleanliness... And I started cleaning them, but it becomes so much work.

yeah it is alot of work im sure but better than soaring water temps and root rot.

this is why i just prefer soil. it costs a little more in the long run but so much easier.

You really feel Soil cost more? I have always been under the impression it cost less. Lol!

me? yeah im sure it costs more @ 18 bucks a bag over time your paying way more in overhead than a hydro system. the hydro system is a larger start up cost but water is much more inexpensive than dirt.
