New light option for my stealth grow... feedback wanted.

I just got a sweetheart of an offer from a buddy of mine. He has a CLW SolarStorm 440 and is willing to sell it to me at a hefty discount. The space I'm working with is a 2x2x5 and has excellent airflow. The upcoming grow is going to be Northern Lights Autos from Nirvana in either soil or a simple DWC (please save the auto hating, I plan on switching to photos once i have more time and more space.). Is this light going to be about right for this space? I already have a cheaper LED i could use (Apollo Purple Sun 300W) but I am always looking for maximum production. Thanks!

Awesome! I would love some feedback from someone who uses one. The veg/bloom switch and the supplimentary UV-B lights have got me pretty jazzed. I will inquire with citygrower415 for his thoughts.

lol I will still call you out for growing autos. I have the same tent size, got an Onyx bloom with Hempy. Autos suck. I get an ounce+ average from 1 gallon hempys and I can fit over 6 milk jugs in that space. You have plenty of room, and if you grew photo, you can easily get 4 ounces+....good luck with getting that yield with autos, but that light is beast so get it!

Hahaha! I know autos are not ideal but I have a short time frame. Once I get moved and set up I'm going straight photos. For this run would you go for 1 or 2 autos based on my space and light?

2 or more. You can fit 4 3 gallons or 3-4 5 gallons, and bigger with autos is better. Don't transplant, just start them in the 3 gallons is what I would do.

Light purchased. Now I just need to get my hands on some quality soil and nutes and it is off to races. Going to have study up on feeding autos, only ever dealt with photos in the past.

I just read something about auto under LEDs needing extra Cal/Mag... Or maybe that was photos under LED.. Dammit short term memory, do your job!

Thanks again for all the tips guys! Been out of this for almost a decade and a lot has changed. I will probably start a grow log once I'm up and running and as always I'm open to any advice you have.

the new gen autos are actually pretty awesome. they have a higher average
CBD content than photo plants, and lots of them test at over 20% when you
combine THC and CBD. pop your bean in a seed pellet or similar, then put
the pellet in the finishing container. i've seen a lot of new gen auto grows pulling
4+ oz from 2 or 3 gallon containers. a mild lucas formula works well for autos
in hempy and soilless, flora nova is lucas formula in a single bottle with added
humic acids.

Wall to wall in a 2x2

Watch out with the UV, some are more tolerate than others. I have a buddy who swears by my CLW 200 solar flare BLOOM BOOSTER spectra for autos!

So with the solar storm 440 I'll be running would you still suggest using the veg/bloom switch for veg/flower or should I run in flower mode the entire time. I've heard excessive red spectrum during veg can cause a lot of stretching but I'm not sure how much that applies to autos.

I haven't vegged with it but a true 3x3 in flower is easy with canopy management at 18 inch's.
