I went to dallas to pick up some smoke and spent around 30 hours out of town. When I checked on the babies and found the room to be 60 degrees F and the res water was 64. The pilot went out on or central heat. I was still pretty impressed at the growth! There lookin pretty good! Tomorrow will be 8 days since I germed them so I will be putting first week pics up I also got my controller module and 4" micro-pore airs tones in so I will be installing those along with the controller module and res. The module came already mounted to the small ebb n gro buckets so u have to figure out how to install the float valves in my 5 gallon controller bucket without opening the unit and voiding the warranty and hopefully not cutting and splicing the wires, but I will if I have to. An ideas?

baby pictures update...Also i figured out how to install the controller module without cutting wires or voiding the warranty. The hole in the bucket is just big enough to fit the whole float valve through it and the hole in the inside panel piece is the size its supposed to with the slit running down it to get it into the panel easier and just caulked the crap out of it.

Got the controller/res almost set up. All I have left is to cut the hoses to fit the attachments in the lids. I figured out I'm gonna have to caulk the airstones where want them to go so the full test run is going to have to wait a little longer. Oh, and my girlfriends dad paint that in prison a long time ago...it's badass!

I got the airstones put in today...drilled holes for the airline in the side of the bucket so the line will never have to move or be pulled from the lid, and caulked the stones down with 100% silicone. I pulled on em a little when I woke up and they all seemed pretty solid so I will start putting the system through it's paces tomorrow and we'll see how she fairs. Also my stage 2 res ph spiked to 6.3 and it took quite a bit of ph down to get it back to 6.0 considering there's probably only a couple of gallons of solution in there.

When I tested the system yesterday I timed the drain and fill functions. 35 minutes to fill and an hour 15 minutes to drain. I planned on draining and refilling my system before the lights came on and mid day so those times just wouldn't work. So I took the whole damn thing apart, turned all of the buckets 180 degrees, and put the 3/4 inch lines on the bottom and the 1/2 inch lines to the top on the inside. The 1/2 inch lines are pretty worthless because the water level never ever gets that high, I just didn't want to plug them up and it was the easiest fix. So for justification of the product of my laziness, were gonna call the half inch line "over flow drain". The new fill/drain time is 15 minutes each. Deffinately worth it. As soon as my mh bulbs come in I'm gonna be transplanting the babies into the main system. I learned on accident that if you keep your res temp at 80f for a a day or two the roots will double in size. Anyways, here's pics....the res pic is how much water is left over from the 55 gallon capacity with all of the buckets full

I'm just about done with the babies permanent home. So I thought I would put up a couple pics....oh and I'm pretty sure that abnormality on TD3 and TD5 was really small 3 leafs comin out already...

Looking real good, did you buy the bucket setup or did you make it yourself?
Im thinking of upgrading to a system like that, because of the benefits but i'd rather make my own because companies charge a shit load for them.

Thanx johs.....I built it myself, and if you do it right, it's alot cheaper than a pre-built system Ebb & Gro monster that was $799 at my hydro store. You have to wheel an deal anywhere you can but I got the buckets for $7.99 a piece with 10% off. I paid $50 for the 55 gallon res that was normally $110 at that store. 3/4" and 1/2" hose is real cheap, fittings aren't bad. I upgraded the inline fan $144. you do have to have a really big air pump but i think I overkilled it quite a bit. Mine was $92. Airstones were 7.99 each from ebay. 100 ft if airline was $11 at the store. You will need most of it. Both submersible pumps and all the the fittings you need for the controller module came $288 shipped from ebay. If you want a more detailed list I'll pu one together for you but thats the jest of it. Alot of my equipment was from my last grow. It's very important that you use 3/4" hose to fill/drain your buckets. also I would advise against grommets unless you want to caulk every single one of em. It's a little extra but I am using some drain fittings that Hydrofarm has that 1/2" all of the way to 1" has the same outer diameter(one bit for all of the holes) which is a bit you can buy at home depot for like $5. If you want a more detailed list I'll put one together for you but that's the jest of it.

The mh bulbs should be here today so I will be transplanting to the main system. I'll post pics when I finish.

The pics are a little late but here they are...I had a bit of a ph problem but I think I have it under control now....I chose SK4 for the sacrifice...it took about 100ml grow and 50ml cal mag plus ph to get a ppm of 236.

Well....I had to ph again this morning...filled and drained a few times to get the res water to balance with the water that's left over in the bottom of the buckets when it drains..I'm pretty sure filling and draining a few worked for stabilizing all of the solution....ph is 6.0
