So I upgraded from my closet to this tent. I now have proper exhuast with a 6" inline fan with 155 CFM pulling air through my 4" homemade diy filter. Baught a 400w Eye Hortilux Hps- and a friend gave me a 400w setup - ballast/ open air hood. What an upgrade from my 150w. I really dont have anything better to put my fans on, any sugg.?? I will be buying 4 clip on fan/ one for ec cornor as well, and probly eliminate the white on in there. What you guys think???? This is my 2nd growIMG_0010.JPG IMG_0011.JPG IMG_0012.JPG

Nice up grade.

How hot does it get in the tent. If over 80f, start looking at air cooled hoodes

Well before the intake i just made 85+ closed tent- now with the cold air intake- room as ac in it it stays between 80-81-- i would like to get the temps down a few more deg. like 77 is what my friend sugg. I may get me an air cooled hood in a month or so

Do you guys think instead of a booster fan i switch 2 a better inline fan it would help draw more of the hot air out?

Looking good OP! You look like you have a good idea of what you are doing. Personally I like 1.5x the intake than the outtake to circulate air. If you put your thermometer at the canopy level in direct light it will read higher than the temp of your tops. I like to use a 20 buck laser thermometer to check temps.

I intake from a different room and exhaust through a carbon filter in the room. best way to control temps in a house

I exhaust out the window- i rather not bring the stale air in this room. How much higher does it norm read?

No intake at all was about 100-110 degrees F I'm guessing. As soon as I got my hydro/thermo sensor I realized I had to make a change,

With moving air from the grow room outside the tent and exhausting that into another room was about 90.

With moving air from the other room and exhausting into the room with the tent its about 80.

A lot depends on where you are measuring temp from and if your sensor is in direct light so these numbers arent exact.

it was low really only 86-88 no where 100 -- the intake drops it to 80.. i just cant get below 79.5..so i will have to get a cooltube for floweer- or figure another way 2 cool it more

You should be fine in the low to mid 80s, I think they grow faster when its 85-87 but that's just from my experience. As long as there's good air circulation then you'll be fine. Also more than likely the temp and the tops of the plants is about 2-5 degrees lower than what the thermometer reads. My thermometer gets hot from the light intensity from my HPS and reads 90-93 but then I read the temp at the canopy with an infrared temp gun and it says 82-85.

Nice lil set up! You should fire up a journal! Keeping track of your grows now will help you with all your future ones.

85 is at the colas is good if you have ample air circulation because you are getting CO2 to the plants. If you don't have good circulation the temperatures rise and the CO2 levels drop so it's a double whammy and although you have good movement below the lights you need to make sure you are pulling and and pushing out at least of a third of the total volume of your tent every minute. For you this can be achieved with a small booster fan like this one for $22. I see you use amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Inline-Booster-63CFM-GYO2405/dp/B0069GE9N8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441175617&sr=8-1&keywords=4+inch+booster+fan.

Also I would use a speed controlled to turn your inline fan way down. So low you can barely hear it. I'd say optimal for you would be 63 cfm intake and 40 cfm outtake using your current filter/fan. The circulation inside will keep the colas at a good temperature.

If you don't have good air movement in and out (and you don't want to mess with CO2) I would suggest using Silica Blast.
