Put that fan outside your tent and pull out. It will generate heat by itself. Also, find something besides cardboard to set those on. That will suck up moisture and mold. good luck

Also man on that plant in the blue pot. Pull that bottom pan off and set it in a bigger tray. Those pans stop up the drainage holes.

The things you read online.

I actually use a cardboard box to lift up my seedling tray in the tent and although your logic may make sense to some people it doesn't to me. My humidity in the tent is low right now and they tray is in a dark place so I'm going to go and take the box out. If by some miracle the humidity does go back up a little I will let you guys know. Don't want my bone-dry cardboard to start to mold :roll:

hey man if it makes ya feel any better im sorry. the box has been outside the room for 45 minutes and the humidity has gone up 1%. I feel like it would have done this any way as i leave a little water under the fan because I know the humidity is low... tbh i never check it. but hey it didnt go down since then

Thank you very much. I have 2 redu mines- i started this with a 150hps in a closet and just went from one extream to another lol.. i have a journ, for my first grow 5 yrs ago

Also more than likely the temp and the tops of the plants is about 2-5 degrees lower than what the thermometer reads. My thermometer gets hot from the light intensity from my HPS and reads 90-93 but then I read the temp at the canopy with an infrared temp gun and it says 82-85.

Hey there, up until recently my light situation was similar to yours. I bought two 400w hps for a 2x6x5 space and with those type reflectors. With both running temps got to 115+ with an 8 inch booster fan as exhaust. So I had to run one lamp at 81 ish temps.

81 worked out ok for me. I feel i would have done better a little cooler but it worked. I'm in the process of setting up the hoods I bought and the steonger fan I boufht now. As it is all messy both lights are maxing out at 82 degrees which I think I can make drop lower once I have it set up how I want it.

Prime example of why you need adequate intake and exhaust. Those reflectors are not going to help you bub. I run two 600s and my space is 4x4x8 with no heat issues.

Here's a visualization for you guys. Take a gallon size vac seal bag and put a piece of chicken in each corner so it kinda stays open. Seal it. Now poke a few small holes on one side and cut a bigger hole on the other side. Try to "suck" air through the bag through the bigger hole. Soon enough the bag will start to lose volume.
This is what is happening when you guys don't add an intake. There is negative pressure in your tent; heat levels rise; co2 levels drop; and you stress your fan. Simply putting your lights in a glass tube is NOT going to help very much if at all.

It's called passive intake and I use 1 600w cooltube and have perfect temps and I live in australia with a. Very hot climate

Oh really that's what it's called?

Passive intakes are either too small and there is negative pressure in the tent or they are too large and light and smell escapes. Honestly that's never been a big deal for me but hey it is worth noting. And with a door open your 200 cfm fan is still pulling 200 cfm but now from a much larger area. Therefor you are now not circulating enough air and the plants wont have a healthy amount of co2 which means the temp needs to be even lower to keep it healthy.. You can do what you like, but a 200 cfm booster fan is 22 bucks on amazon. Up to you.


So yeah, if you have central A/c in the area you grow a passive intake will keep a small grow cool enough, However with better ventilation you could keep your plants at the same temp they are now and raise your A/c five degrees... should pay for the fan in one grow.

BUT HEY, what do I know...

Did you flower at those temps 80-82?

If tried a few ways, I can't seem to keep the fan stable without it start swinging all over, I know it secure and won't fall I just don't like it coolant swinging, I'll keep trying ways, I plan on buying 4 clip fans one for ex corner of the tent, it will be a bonus if I can get this one to hang in a way I like
