Mix in the perlite with the soil and add about an inch of straight perlite to the bottom of the pot. Not sure about jiffy pots but my instinct says to keep perlite in your mix so that would include the jiffy pot for me as well. Just no nute.

allright thanks, once my baby sprouts I'm going to prepare my tray :) it fits perfectly, I'll post some pics once everything is together. I've been running my case now for about 20 hours straight and my temps are still around 24-26! :) really happy with that. Was worrying it wouldn't be hot enough...

So stay tuned! =D I'll post right away when my baby hatches ;p

It should be plenty...sometimes I just plain water until I up-pot, which can be 3-5 weeks in some cases. Seedlings and seed don't need much initially, seedlings a little more water and seeds just need to stay damp but ventilated.

So today it germinated! :) Gonna plant it in a few mins! :D I'm gonna be a dad :joint:

Today is Day 1. My first grow has officially started! =D pics following when I've planted.

Temp: +- 21 °C

Planted my germinated seed about 4 hours ago. Now let's hope she pops out her head soon :)
Really suppressing the urge to water more :p we'll just have to wait and let her do her job.

Do you think you can adjust your lights to be sideways? And making a DIY reflector for them would be even better!!

I might be able to do that but it would take some work.... Don't really have room for a reflector, when the carbon filter comes on when it's starting to smell will take up quite some space.
I've been thinking alot about how to mount them sideways, I'll devise a plan over the weekend, maybe fix it monday, because right now the lamps are my biggest worry, they aren't mounted properly and I fear they will come loose, right now thats not a real problem but when there's a plant to fall on... not so fun :p but I'll get right to it, once the lamps are optimized I can rest easy.

And thanks Hanky =D glad to have you around.

PS: Was a rainy night last night and managed to catch 6 Liters of rain water! =D Should keep me covered for a while.

So I did some thinking and turns out mounting the lights horizontally won't be possible... :c Unless I get my hands on some of those plugs that go straight to light socket, but I can't find any of those anywhere. So the lights will stay in the same orientation, but I will look for some more secure ways of mounting them. I'll be back on my apartment tomorrow so I hope she shows her head by then.

I don't know where you are located, but I picked 3 up the other day at Lowes. Good luck on your grow!!

Day 4:

So after being away for the weekend I came back to my girl to find her wrestling to come topside. I can see a liiiiitle tiny green thing sticking out of the soil. So at least it's not dead ;p
Gave it a decent watering and fixed the lights, they are now mounted properly and shouldn't fall on my plants anytime soon.. I hope.

I'm officially a dad! =D She's standing young and proud :) Will give her a decent watering tomorrow morning and put her in the large pot that evening.
So exciting! :)

So today I put the jiffy pot into the larger tray and planted her to one side, so I can LST her over the entire length, like Mewk did in his grow. Seems like he had succes with it, I'mma try it too :)
