Need input on grow box build

Ok so nearly $1000 later I am now 80% completed on the box just needs doors and shelving. Sorry I haven't posted pics I will try too soon as possible. The light rack is by far what I would call awesome. Can't wait to show you all.

Construction of the box will resume in about 2-3 days I am away from home at the moment but hopefully I can get this op up and running in a few days after returning home.

I had a grow box. I found that in the veg chamber i had two spiral fluorescent bulbs in there. Dont remember the watts but were around 1500 lumens or so. That was perfect. Plenty of light but not too much. I didn't want my mother plant to grow too fast. It also put off almost no heat.

Be sure to paint the inside of your box with flat white. Its good at reflecting light. Mylar gets too dirty and spotted IMO.

Well the box is about 90% complete however I have two seeds sprouting in my bubbler system and 1 plant that is almost a foot tall growing in a soil mixture miracle grow makes which expands and drains very well. Have the plants on a 18/6 schedule. Hopefully they will do well.

With only 5 feet of head room you would pretty much have to scrog, I have 6 feet of head room and I lst'ed my last grow instead of scrogging, and it over grew my space which ruined about 90% of plant due to mold, caused by bad air circulation. Now I'm sure someone who is well versed in LST would have had no trouble, I did and won't be using LST other than training my plants under my scrog screen. Here's a great thread that a lot of people on here refer to for growing, and the one that got me started https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/344359-pineapple-express-g13-labs-seed.html . Now since you're new, you're probably not aware that you should be thanking me for my help by giving me +rep, it's the little star under my avatar pic, next to journal this post.
You won't need a fan speed motor controller with just 1, I use that for my air cooled light and don't need it to run anywhere near full speed to keep my light cool. I run my air exchange/Filter fan 24/7 full speed throughout the grow, you don't want stagnant air or loss of negative pressure, what you want is that air to be continually renewed. This helps with two things, getting out the heat and bringing in fresh air and Co2. What you do need is a filter, growing weed has an incredibly strong and overwhelming smell, I use a carbon filter and one Ona odor neutralizer in my cab and one on top of my cab, and my weed isn't even one of the smellier strains but this makes it undetectable. I have friends and family over, workmen you name it, and just keep the door of my office closed and nobody suspects a thing. The only reason I keep them out of the office is the sound of the fans, not the smell. But when necessary I can just hit a switch, kill the power for everything and not worry about either sound or smell. Also what do you mean by a light controller? Do you mean a Timer?

I do the same thing. I haven't taken the plunge on a carbon filtre quiet yet cause I'm still using the duct booster fan but nobody smells a thing I just keep the door closed for the sound of everything running. I picked up stick on air fresheners and my exhaust blows right on them and it seems to work. If cash isn't an issue I would go with the carbon scrpbber tho. My cab is engineered quiet well and m fan keeps up with the heat wwiph my lights vented seperatly. Happy growing !!!

I've never grown in soil so I can't help with that, but I'm sure you can find all the info you need here :weed:

I use promix and it works I'm looking into making some super soil by subcool. I'll let you know how it goes after my advanced nutrients run out. I don't have any problems with humidity with soil. I've worked it out to be cheaper to make "just add ease soil" than using nutes from a bottle bpt depending on where top are that might not be true for you. I don't know how much better the super soil will be also than bottled nutes I expect much better tho. I'm more of a quality over quantity guy tho.

Hoping my fan will be able to keep up with the heat output of those bulbs.

I run 250 watts between 42 watt and 23 watt crow and they will raise a cab up to 100 degrees in no time without some kind of ventelation. I vent my lights seperate as I mentioned before now and it has solved all my heat issues. I run 76 lights on. Very pleased.

I made a bubbled and didn't have any luck with clones surviving in them. Glad it works for you. Did you buy a bubbled system ?

So I used the box right up until I moved to my new place now I have an entire 8x10 room to grow in. However I would say my dwc system was about 90% failure and 10% success and 100% a learning experience only had one plant survive and give me bud and it was a auto skunk yielded about enough for one mega joint and was amazing smoke couldnt function after smoking it lol. How ever I'm coming up with a new dwc system similar to undercurrent but a little more space friendly and interchangeable pods to switch from veg to switch to flower with ease being able to switch 1 plant at a time. Still in the thought process tho.
