I have only used cfl's as side lighting, I do know they are not very hot, but I have never set up an array of them. Sooooo I hope so too lol, good luck!

kepp the light at 16 hours, build dirt around plant steam as it grows for support, keep room to human comfortability temps , just feed as u would any other plant as needed. bug control also, no outside dirt

I am excited to start this I think you'll be impressed of some of my inginuity skills plus I like to keep things clean I don't like when you can see all the hoses and wiring hanging everywhere plus when I build things I try to make it look nice not thrown together i take pride in it. I decieded to go with a bubbler hydro system. So I already have the idea of what and how I'm going to make this system.

So i am 100% new to this i am starting with autos as i hear they are almost near impossible to kill. I am some what of a basic green thumb and have basic knowledge on growing plants.

The plan--
- indoor stealth op
- CFL lighting
- custom built grow box
- 1 vortex 4" 177cfm fan for cooling and ventilation. Thanks to (GoldD) for all your help on choosing a fan.
- medium- unsure thinking soil mixture
Depending on the accessability of nutrients and other mediums

The strains- i have 10 stains (from seed) available to grow only going to start with three

The starting three will be.
- Auto Critical cheese by dinafem
- Auto Blue Diesel by advanced
- Auto cheese berry by 00 seeds

The grow box
- Inside dimensions being reconsidered at this time original thoughts were 3x3
- Height 5'
- front swing hinged double door.
- adjustable light table to be able to change lights quickly.

Lighting- thinking 300w of cfls

Vegging- 6500k 300 watts 3-4 inches above tops
Flowering-2700k 400 watts 3-4 inches from tops plus side lighting

Considering a scrog

I just need input
Anything that seems like it wont work
Well right off the bat I think you don't have nearly enough light for that space. You have 9 sq. ft. and are only going to run 300w of CFL's?! The most you can do with that in a space that size with that light is cloning, maybe veg or a mom plant. But flowering? No way, you'll get under an ounce if you're lucky!!

But good luck anyway!! bongsmilie

Well considering all recommendations I have so far I have changed my thought on that. If you would have read the whole thread. My light put out will be 32,000 lumens. And the box dimensions have been changed to maximize lumens/sq foot.

Looking forward to seeing pics when it's finished :weed:

Ok so grow box revised

Box dimensions interior 24"x48" + 12" utility closet on 1 end 5-6 feet tall
Fan is a vortex 4" 177cfm
Nutrient bubblers are 53L and have two and two 3 inch airstones in each
so lights there will be 16 23w 6500k and 2 45w 6500k = 31,000 lumens
Nutrients are general organics "GO box"

I think I am well over my budget on this one so far but I get excited and can't stop buying things lol have everything I think, I need to get the box built next probably cost about $100 dollars going to try and sound proof as much of it as I can. And all my controls will be located in a control panel on the face of the utility box.

If you want for $100 you can find a decent grow-tent on ebay. It'll save you the trouble of building one. Either way good luck, do a lot of research and ask questions as they arise. I hope you have a great grow!!

No I'll just build one the way I want. I want to keep it clean no hanging wires and flexi hose everywhere. You guys will be inspired and hopefully rather impressed on this creation.

Thinking of using 5.5 or 6 inch PVC to hold my net pots.
Using coco coir as the medium but I might
end up using aquarium rocks depending if anyone thinks
coco coir might give me root rot.
............Y..........Y <---- y's are the plants

Periods are just put in for space so all my writing lines up so there just blank space.

A basic rule is to calculate how many watts you are using, and divide this by 2 to get the approximate amount of cubic metres your exhaust fan needs to be able to pull.(then add a little to make up for the carbon filter). For instance a room with 2 lamps x 400Watts is a total of 800Watts. Divide this by 2 and you get 400. + 20 % Your required exhaust fan for this room is 480m3. Round this up always to an available size which in this case it would be 500m3.

Sorry guys just switched jobs so I'll be home more to continue this operation today I am going to pick up some of my supplies. And start on building it :))

I am using cfls plus when I come to that bridge I will cross it if it is running to hot I will ad duct boosters and another fan. Which is why I also have a fan speed controller. I am also having the inlet on my fan built into my light Table so it sucks the heat directly out.
