7.1 is fine, i believe OF has some lime in it anyways...if your water has more than just chlorine in it, i'd go to an aquarium store and get some drops, other than that you should be fine...you can toss a small handfull of OF into your water if you want to gas the chlorine off faster, or black strap molasses works for that as well and feeds the microbes in your soil to boot :)

If you have any doubts.....mix the 2 rain and tap after adding your nutes to 6.5 and forget about the soils pH!

FFOF is kinda light on Ca and Mg right out of the bag in my opinion. I always added a good handful (1/2cup) to the bag and mixed well as adding it.....no more pH problems from OF!

Thanks guys! When should I start adding some nutes to the plants ? I know ocean fox farm says it's good up to about 8 weeks are so . I don't want to burn my plants been there done that.. Last year I used bad soil and got a lot of purple running through it think it was a Mag issue .finish the grow but struggled even caught the white power mold . I was so stressed out man . I am not going through that this year read about soils fox farm seems to be best . Started plants in smaller pots to . I think me putting the little girs in big pot and letting it go whole summer also gave me problems not to mention me over thinking everything .So guide me guys ;)

Purple stems are not always mag issues hehe sometimes it's genetics . best to use a small pot and move up every 3 weeks or so reason is new soil and new nutrients than some watered down and wasted nutes in the soil. As for mold it had to of been a mixture of fucked up humidity and to much watering (atleast in my experience.) Let that soil dry then water when you see drooping (learned that aswell)

What nutes do you have? If it says use 3 ml start out using 1.5-2 ml.don't feed you plant anything until you have atleast transplanted once I would say so approx 3 weeks or 3 nodes high. Remember adding nutrients to something that doesn't seem to need it is like taking a sugar pill to gain muscle. Unneeded is unneeded . but there is a such thing as to much just make sure you are half dosing for about 2 weeks of feeding than do full dosage ,if you start to see any weird brownish spots stop using nutrients for the next watering cycle. Just plain phed water but with ffof it really isn't needed to be phed unless it's with nutrients . also if you see nutrient burn make sure it's plain water and you see atleast 20% runoff come from the bottom

And another thing . never mix nutrients with each other without putting it in an appropriate amount of water and shaking.

Either stick with dry organics, top dress as needed until you repot after that, you want to mix the dry amendments with the new soil. drop your water ph to 6.5..the soil is prebuffered so don't worry about soil ph. If you're using liquid nutrients add it to the water then ph the solution as stated above. Synthetic nutrients will kill your soil.

So what is over all better to use Rain water or my water from sink which is 7.1 ph. Also let me see if I am getting this right as long as I use fox farm ocean soil I don't have to ph my water cause of the soil I am using? Once I replant plant and it has fresh soil ph my water to 6.5 if adding nutes? Why do I ph my water if it has nutes and don't do it if it does not that's were I am lost . Sorry this is all-new and interesting to me ..

Put it to you this way. Rain water isn't never phed.plants have survived millions of years without perfect water. Either is good. As for fox farms I use it but I also pH my water to be safe to around 6.8. But phing water isn't needed unless you use liquid nutrients like base nutes. They need 6.0-7.0 ph

Be careful with rain water will contain pest's,i don't ph but just use ph down or up after making your nutes up.

No I do not and under the same bran name too hmm...I would half dose your plants for awhile. Make a 1 gallon jug of ph'd water and shake it up really good. Add grow big half dosed and shake it up real good

Yes ,make sure it's ph'd to the nutrients needed . some need 6 others need 7 and certain organic nutrients need 3.5
