need help! sprinklers clogged! why?? please help!

hey,

i just set up a dwc with a water pump and mini 360sprinklers in it but when i tested it out the sprinklers got clogged in 5hours.

is it the nutes im using? im using supernatural powder nutes.

can someone help me out and tell me how i can stop the clogging. i know it will clog eventually but i want it to last a long while before it does.

I had this problem, it made me want to smash the system. I am assuming they are the little guys, that fit into 1/4 od; 1/8id? They can be rigged into any size pipe but snug up in the 1/4" vinyl.

Some of the methods I tried:

micron bag for my pump, it worked very well, but not 100%.

then I tried the bag and filters all throughout my feed lines and returns. Still not 100%.

Then I went to lowes and started buying 1/2" mip rainbird brand misters, and have not had a clog since, but its 1/2" mip with a built in filter. The drawback, you need a stronger pump to get the bigger mister working properly. I just think those little things are high maintenance, like my girlfriend.

do you run your water through a filter first?

new systems like to clog up. always little shit floating around - stuff you might have lost in there yourself.
it will clear up on it's own. in the meantime you can always make little attempts to catch those little particles beforehand.

if you don't want to spend a lot of money - get some pillow-fill at walmart. (polyester fiber fill) it works great, and if you need to contain it in your application, you can use regular panty-hose for that.
sounds nutty, but works - i use it 'all the time'
