How's your grow going friend?
Had to trash the seedlings. I had a full room of GG#4 and Three Times Crazy clones ready to veg, needed the space, it was an unexpected priority. I'll be planting some of the NSN beans outdoors this season. I actually prefer growing new strains outdoors, it's easier for me to see their characteristics.

Maybe try craigslist, that seems to be the cheapest place to score a ballast and hood, probably come with some bulbs too but I'd probably replace those just to be on the safe side.

So after I accidentally burned the shit out of the Northern Lights auto by forgetting to dilute my neem mixture I was using to battle a fungus gnat problem, I started two more seeds and I figured you guys would be interested in seeing how they are doing. FWIW the leaves are a MUCH different shape than the northern lights auto, which definitely lends credence to them being different strains and not just random bagseed or the like.

Seems to me the lot of ya growing out these NSN beans need to do a bit more research....

I will help point you in the right direction...

Need to get your setup proper:

Grow Light: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=180933709019

Ventilation & Odor Control: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171161521595

This would be a good start. I cant vouche for the fan & filter as I run a much larger one, but the ballast is a great beginners setup. I actually run a 400 watt apollo for veg. They are decent quality with a good warenty. You can adjust it from 200 / 300 / 400 watts. Includes a ballast, bulb and hood

So for $150 you are on your way to great meds and you will produce probably 10-20x the amount as you would with your cfl setup.

Were the only cups I had at the time. Plus, they're autos so they'll be out of them quickly, AND it's not really an issue with the lighting I have. HIDs that would penetrate the cup walls would probably cause issues, but the soft top-down lighting of my CFL's isn't gonna be getting through those white walls enough to hurt anything.

I mainly grow outdoors, my indoor setup is really only to veg mothers and test run strains to see if I want them for my outdoor garden.

Growing conditions and lighting have as much to do with results as genes do. Some of my best smoke has been bagseed even when compared to the Barneys Farm, GHS, Vision and World of Seeds stock I have purchased. Hands down my Seedsman Seeds White Widow has so far been the one that was really worth paying for and I'm on my last 3 seeds so I don't want to blow through that great smoke just yet.
3 seeds? Shit, all you need is one! A single bean can give you 100s of plants for years and years.

Pop one of them. Veg her out till she is large enough to get some clones, a good 4 or 5 weeks should do it. Take 10 or so clones, give the plant 5-7 days to recoup then throw her into flower. You will now have 10 plants that are genetic copy of the doner plant. Those 10 clones will be identical to the original.

You can keep one as a mother plant for years, just be sure to keep her in a veg state (ie 18/6 light cycle). CFLs would work great for this. Your other option would be to veg the clones for 4-5 weeks, then cut a clone or 2 from each one and then flower them. You can continue this cycle for quite some time and be able to preserve your genetics....

But the algae and other unwanted biologicals that need light to thrive could cause you issues

Extremely valid point that works if my Veg Box was filtered and sadly it is not. Once the girls hit maturity and start stinking they must go in the Flower Box or my house ends up smelling like skunk and that just isn't an option. I have cloned once and it was just at a bad time when I had to many plants going in the flower box at one time. I just may hold on to my White Widows from Seedmans until I build a proper Carbon Filtered Veg Box that can accommodate both a mom and the various other strains and bagseeds I like to grow out. Not a complete newb here and at the same time I really do appreciate the sound wisdom.

The thread was started on 1/11 so, someone should have a 2 month old plant by now. Why no long term input?

Anyway, it would be nice to have more objective input other than whiners complaining it took 5 days to get their 10 dollars worth of beans. Pathetic.

I'm sure many are on the fence. Who wants to dedicate the time to prove her beans? On the one hand. They are cheap. Well it is my experience that if you buy expensive beans from a reputable breeder like Dinafem, your chances of being successful are in the 90% range. Unless you mess it up.

Definately need some objective input here.

So is it your intent to come off like a pompous ass or I'm getting the wrong vibe here? I mean that as an honest question considering the fact you think most NSN seed shoppers don't know squat.

I've been growing dj shorts diesel Ryder for several years so I'm not new to auto's. I should add Between myself and a couple friends we sprouted 20 auto's with a 100% germ rate. 5 candy kush day 24/no Sex yet 5 critical jack day 23/no Sex yet and some diablo/cheesus that are about a week behind. Looking back through the thread I see a couple people that have started the candy kush so if they could chime like growyourown said that would be awesome. Just don't want to waste anymore time if the Genetics aren't what there supposed to be. Thanks to anyone with input.

Well, based on the fact that she is producing the beans, they will all be +1F or +1S of whatever filial or selfied generation they were, so you will probably see a bit more variation in phenos than you would with the original strain, and thus probably a little less reliability if you are looking for specific traits. I could be wrong, but that's my guess.
