true true, starting misting from day one would make the difference,
my veg plants usually just bout touch my parabolic with 400w MH, they are misted from day1 and not stopped till 2 weeks into flower with 2x600w HPS lights bout 12"-16" over them and never burned them myself, i've burned plants that i don't mist anymore tho.. lol
so yes, thats another factor...

cloudflyer i kind of got sidetracked, i just wanted to thank you for your explanation.
my grand scheme of things is starting with 50 seeds and having all of them turn out female with 0 seeds could u answer 1 more ? what are the odds in your opinion that these seeds will do this for me?

Honestly, almost zero though it will be higher than the usual 50/50. If you want 100% female try working with clones or start with 100 seeds

i know that having clones is the best way but i had to gve up my mother/veg room a couple days ago and i'm trying to find a good stable seed thats not to expensive i'm just now starting to flower so i have little time to figure something out for next time i have bcsk northern lights and their purp on back up. i was just thinking feminized blueberry/bubblegum for free? shoot!

I have heard many times that you can't clone from a flowering plant this completely bogus. Its just as easy as veg just let it sit a couple extra weeks
This ones a little tricky.

Plants start their life in a growth stage. The seed has enough food to get 1 root (tap root) and to produce a seedling leaf. So the first order of business is to produce roots and more leafs. Durring the veg stage the plant is rooting as fast as the plant is big. (good clones). Once you switch to flowering the root production is almost at a hault. Now the energy is directed to flowering.

Plants have one goal in life, Survival the bi product just happens to be O2. So yes if you clone a flowering plant it will go back to rooting but under a lot of stress. The plants can be deformed and 25-50% smaller. But since you are at the begining of the grow (clone stage) Its better to just start over.

the only reason that i tried this was for a mother of a plant that i really liked once i seen it in flower. it saves cloning all the seeds only to find out half were male and the females just didn't match up to that one certain plant as far as roots i had roots on 5 out of 6 in 16 days or less whether they will lose vigor from this point on, i don't know. is that what your saying is that yeild will diminish from clones from this cutting?

He didn't say you were wrong, just not 100% right. I explained the ~1% difference.
I know the reason I went straight for the seed instead of explaining the whole thing about UV light and birds and insects is because he was asking about males. The male dosent produce seeds (a tasty treat for birds and bugs) so it does not need to produce thc. Just polen sacs
