My Lil Closet Grow

Well not quite the two feet I thought but you're still looking at a 3-4.5 feet result which I think is plenty big for any beginner. My first plants are halfway done flowering and they're taller than me. They're 5'5" without the pot so if you add the ten inches of coco under them, I can't see the top buds. It becomes a pain in the ass to take care of them when they get that big so yours should be a perfect size. And if you want to find the sex of those new seeds you have going, take a clone from each plant as soon as you can (2 weeks from now). Take those clones and put them directly under 12/12 light. They will die of course, but not before showing you the sex of each plant. Just a little trick from the experts I picked up and will be trying next time.

Hey folks, I was just wondering if anyone has heard of using organic honey as a rooting agent, or cloning gel? Just curious, a friend of mine mentioned it as a tried and true method. Let me know.

Just a lil update for you folks, as we are now 4 days into flower. I am starting to think I vegged a lil too long. My girls are looking like they may top out at about four feet. Which will have them awfully close to the light near the end. So, I guess I will be doing some bending to compensate. Anyhow, what are the chances of starting a grow from bagseed, will 100% germ ratio, as well as 100% female ratio? Slim to none right? Well, I believe I have six out of six females. IMO unbelieveable! I have seen two white hairs coming out of the pistils on five of my six girls. The 6th girl is about 2-3 wks behind the rest but she is quickly catching up in heighth and width. I am pretty positive she is female, just by the way she's growing and looking. The tall stocky plants I thought were males surprised the shit outta me. lol. Anyway, I am off to take pics for your enjoyment.

Just one thing I forgot. I have perlite over the top of my soil, so when I water and feed it won't disturb the soil, or roots or anything. I was checkin my girls out and noticed my roots are starting to grow at surface level of the soil. And some are growing outta the stalk at perlite level above the soil. What does that mean and what do I do?

I've never heard of honey as a rooting agent, can you add some more soil to try and cover the roots up? Sometimes the soil "settles" and exposes the roots. The odds of six females from six regular seeds would be the inverse of 2 raised to the 6th power = 1/64 or 1.5625%.

Just a lil picture update for you kind folks at RIU. Day 6 flowering, and I am proud to say I have all girls. Kinka amazing to think all my babies turned out to be girls. I am shocked to say the least, last but not least the pics. Enjoy.

Thanks my man! I feel blessed by the bud gods. lol. Thanks, I kinda thought the pics were shitty. But the girls look good ya know. My camera sucks, or I just ain't figured out the focus yet. lol. Sorry to hear you had some boys in the bunch. Two aint too bad though, not at all. I am still in shock that I have all females in flowering! I started with 8 and have put two outside to do whatever they do. One is doing very well, and the other has been very stunted. We'll see how it goes. I also took two clones last nite off of my oldest plant, not the biggest tho. lol. They doin fine, I have them in a dome and tray with six other seedlings I started. I guess I'll take a few pics of those and be right back.

Just a some pics of my clones, and a lil smoke.

Your plants really look good and I hate to be the guy that has something negative to say but watch closely for hermies. Like Picasso said, the chance of all those plants being females is extremely slim. I got really excited when 8 out 9 of my plants had female preflowers. Turns of 6 of those 8 were hermies and I was left with two true fems. I really hope that's not your case, but keep an eye out.

Will do my friend. How and when will I know if they are hermie? That is one thing I was wondering about it males or hermies get preflower hairs. They do have very definitive two hair patterns coming out of the I believe calyx. But what are some other signs to look for? There is nothing around that area that even closely resembles a pollen sack on any of the girls. But thanks for the heads up, and I really hope you didnt jynx me. lol

A lot of people think at first that the male and female preflowers will be combined on the same node or a female preflower will turn into a male. Not true. A hermie plant has some nodes that are female, some that are male. There was about a 10 day period where some of my females started having male preflowers on lower nodes. Strangely, the plants that showed as female first were the ones that remained that way. So while I'm not a hermie expert, and hope I won't ever have to be, it seems that if they stay 100% female for ten days you're in the clear.

Ok, thanks. And like I said, I saw nothing that even closely resembled male preflowers. You know how they usually look like a sack, or mishaped fruit or something, mine just have white hairs coming out of the pistils, and on most of them they are showing those two distinct female hair patterns on multiple nodes. This is the first I have ever heard of this phenomenon. But i will keep my eyes peeled and my fingers crossed. Thanks again, and I really hope your wrong in my case. lol.
