LOL, what is Lillie Pop?? Don't guess I did!!!
It is where u trin off the bottom part of the plant to focus all energy up th one main cola. To maximize a sog gro which the aeroflo is made for.. single stalk buds. I trim my branches as they start while they are still soft imo reduces the level of stress the plants get opposed to cutting off established branches. I leave 2 full leaves at the top about the first 2 to 3 weeks. 0 popcorn much more air circulation between plants and bigger fatter buds. Here is lollie popping.. sorry the quality sucks on my phone.20160229_202736223.jpg 20160229_202751317.jpg 20160229_202744622.jpg

Dude they really grow their butts off in the aeroflo. Only people that hate on it are people who are haters. Sure the design wasnt well thought out. Like the 2 end rails how they sit messed up on the lid. Very overpriced for something that has glued on ends. Would think each rail would be one piece

Def worth throwing down a few bucks on a nice meter, sound like you figured that out on your own.
Ok i have a question about the res. I keep my chiller set on 62 and the water sometimes reaches 64 now is it better to keep the same water and just top off with nutrient? My ph is staying in the 6.0 to 6.4 ish range. Pppm is pretty stable as well. Goes up 10 ppmevery few days. Ppm is up there at 1910 i dont really know how maybe because when i changed res there wasnt a full 40 gal in res. So u think i should do a full res change everyb10 or so days or just top off with same strength nutrient as needed?

I change my res every 14 days...when Im not too busy. lol
Thx. Im going to play it by ear. I have had some extreme growth happening not a def anywhere i can see. I saw them one night missed the next then saw them today and its crazy how fast they are growing. And the bud sites are well formed and its been only 18 days on the table. Its scary to think about not lollie popping. It would be a jungle in there. The black lines appear with magnetic ballast but not the digital. Kinda weird. They are all like 5 times taller than when we started

From what I see-----looks good.

I suggest 12/12 now.

A pic from my journal about a knock off aeroflow.

That is tight as fuck. I have been 12/12 for 18 days already. Ill try to take better pics today with better camera

I was wondering about using them rubber caps opposed to pvc on one im piecing together with black 6" pvc tubes 4 per tube. They got to be cheaper than pvc for sure

Ok so today i go for a res change and again i forget to go at lower strength and just followed directions on bottle. 250ml micro, 250ml gro and 400ml bloom. Calimagic 250ml hygrozyme 75ml. I was going to clean the res but didnt want to tackle that task. I felt around the inside of the res and very little to no algea inside. The only place i could really feel any film was in a sten about halfway down the res. I removed the air pump today to see if that helps the ph. It seems like it is really liking the 6.4 ph because it is stopping for the most part. I wont tiuch it again until it reaches 6.7 not going to waste time on battling ph anymore. The girls swem to be doing good. Couple have passed the 2ft mark and grape god is already showing a lot of crystals. My ppm is 1840 i know everyone thinks to high but they seem ok

Ph of 6.1 thru the night and so far all day today. That is better than it has done so far?

Ever one to read read read i have come to the conclusion that a slight rise in ph and ppm is in fact healthy and expected when nutrient solution is stable so im thinking fron 6.1 to 6.2 in a day and a half would be considered a slight rise and that gaining 100 ppm in that same amount of time is expected. That is why res should be topped off with fresh water.

At least thats what i have read at more than one place online in the past couple of days.

Heres a quick question for you....are you aerating your nutrient solution In your reservoir? I ask because im fighting constantly rising PH and after research and others help on RIU...the consensus is that its due to the airstone dissipating the acids after adding PH down. A reaction similar to bubbling pails of chlorinated tap water to help dissipate or off gas any chemicals.

The same off gassing principle could apply in aero nft during the spraying... turbulent ride down around all the roots... down the tubes and when it waterfalls back into the reservoir (the nutrient solution that is). If this whole series of actions imparts a tonne of DO into the solution (instead of using the airstones) could the reaction cause the dissipation of the PH down in the aero nft setup as well.....
P.S. dont mean to jack your thread bro...just your PH issue caught my attention....and im leaning towards a diy setup very similar my friend.

I currently have a grow in an aeroflo and the pH is not fluctuating much, just a point or two occasionally. I do have a small aquarium airstone in the nute reservoir and it doesn't seem to affect pH.Maybe the nutes are keeping the pH steady, I'm using Jungle Juice Micro and Bloom and going with the Lucas Formula for mixing amounts.

I removed the air stones and ph has slowed way way down. Im sittin on 6.3 now for a couple days. I added a few gallons to get ppm bach down to 1800ish. Had to add another 600watts because its getting thick on there. I haved stopped lollie popping on about day 21 still couple side branches on 2 of the plants. Same strain the onlh 2 of it and its between girl scout cookies (midweeksong) or chronic x northern lights sux i got them all mixed up. Grape god is covered in crystals on some of the bigger leaves even.white alien has started getting crystals. The 2 tallest are 28 inches tall have a few sites that clones werent ready to go when i put them in, impatient that i dont expect anything from. And honestly i have had fatter colas on day 21 ebb and flow then i do on day 26 in aeroflo. But could be strain and the cola wasnt nearly as tall as these are. Hope they fill out real good in the 2nd half of flower.

I mean how much is much then? Like a point or 2. In how long of a period of time. I have risin .2 in like five days i guess. Seems to have stopped at 6.3. Which i leave it in order to avoid adding ph down. When i get to 6..5 i will drop it a cap at a timo to 6.0 then do again. Maybe my nutrient is to strong, no burning but 1900 seems like a lot.

Why are u using lucas formula? Its really not even how the product was designed to be used. Just curious because i used it in the past and i see better looking plants uding all 3. Im not knocking the lucas formula or anything just asking what made u decide to go with it.
