Day 17:
New growth seems to be coming in fine.

I'm noticing my first set of problems though.

1. Her cotyledons seem to be turning yellow. I've heard this is normal as she will be depleting the nutrients in these leaves, but I want to make sure it doesn't spread to her true leaves.
This is not an issue. They will yellow, fall off and die as they get less and less light, covered by the growing canopy.

2. Her main stem seems to be filling up rather nicely. It gets thicker and greener everyday. However now the true leaves seem to be developing a purple tinge to their stem.
Some strains have totally purple stems. This is not an issue as well.

I'm wondering if I should use my Grow Big/Big Bloom mix even though I gave her, her first feeding just two days ago?
Water, Water, Feed is what I suggest. If you fed her, the next two times she is dry just give her ph adjusted water. The third time, feed again.

How much water are you using per feeding? For a container that size, you should be using 10-14 ounces of water per two or three days with the plant at this stage of development.

All and all I think she is still very healthy. She has begun to smell quite strongly. I'm finding that I'm having just as much fun with this grow as I would say...smoking?

...K, probably not that much :leaf:
She looks great! Keep up the good work!

Day 19:

Keeps on growing. Will water again tomorrow, and hopefully feed again on wednesday :leaf:
I've been growing this strain too, probably about 2-3 weeks prior to yours and id just like to say yours is looking pretty good. I dont know if its this particular strain but mine has exploded in growth. Wish you the very best with your grow!!

Day 25

Her leaves seem to be drooping a lil bit. NEw growth keeps coming in everyday but her fan leaves seem to be sagging. She got her first nute treatment and seemed to take to it...untill yesterday.

Any and all help would be appreciated :leaf:

Day 29.

She still looks a little droopy to me. I havent watered since my last post because there is still moisture at the bottom of the pot. This leads me to believe that I overwatered the poor girl. Anyways New growth was stunted for a while but has begun again.

Also the single true leaf at the bottom of my plant has begun to yellow...:leaf:

She looks great to me!

The soil looks pretty dry to me, although its obviously hard to accurately tell from a pic...

How tall is she now? 8-9" or so I'd guess...

Maybe next time you feed her, use 1 tablespoon of Big Bloom and 3/4 Teaspoon Grow Big per gallon.

You want to water her every 3-4 days max. If she is taking too long to dry out, you may need to cut back on the water amount.

How much runoff are you getting each time you water?

If it's plenty, than I would say its safe to cut it back in terms of the amount, perhaps 10% or maybe a bit more...

You got it exactly, she's about 8.5 inches.

Thanks for the advice. Ya, I think its a safe bet that I am just using too much water for her to soak up. I will be cutting down the amount by 10% and hopefully that will help.

Also do you think it is too early to take a clone yet?

Well, yes and no.

You would be taking a clone from a plant that isn't yet old enough to be sexually mature, which means the strain's genetics will not be fully realized in either yield or potency.

That's why vegging is important until the point when the new growth alternates nodes. Right now, you have a new leaf grow off two at a same, symmetrically at the top. Once the plant is mature, these leaves will alternate and your nodes will no longer be symmetrical.

The clone would survive if you do it properly though.

If I were you, I would wait another 2-4 weeks if you plan on continuing to grow after this. That way you could keep a couple clone under a single 25 watt bulb and veg them slowly while this one (and a clone or two, perhaps) flower. Then you could put the clones vegging into flower once you harvest.

But yes, you could clone the plant, in case you would like to not wait and start learning. I would go to a hydro store and get an little EZ cloner. They come with a dome and peat plugs in which you place the clone's stem. Get some root hormone as well, such as clonex.

Day 31

So I am sure there is a problem now. She is drooping more than ever. She is still a healthy green but I'm afraid I watered her again too quickly. It was only about ten ounces this time.:leaf:

wow only 10oz and she droop like that?

imma newbie but i would consider hte state of the root ball at this point...whats the soil mix?

If the soil is especially dry, she could droop like that for a short time right after water without worrying me.

She's a resiliant little girl. After some pretty thourough watering she's slowly perking back up. Pictures later tonight. Thanks everyone for the help. Super shouts to big jesse!

I think in an earlier post you said something about water still at the bottom. Don't let her sit in water.

Thank you for all your help fellas, turns out I'm just retarded and have been depriving my lil baby of the water she needs in fear of over watering. Today I pruned some of her bottom dead leaves and as a last ditch effort gave her 16 ounces of PH balanced water and she sprung back to life like nothing had ever happened. Too bad I took the leaves too because she probably would have fully recovered. Anyways heres the updated pics:leaf:

Day 41

Yellow spots have formed at the tips of each fan leaf.
I have deduced that this is either because of the under watering that occurred to make her droop, or because of the shock of being watered again so thoroughly.

Could this also be an Nitro deficiency?

Also I topped her, maybe a lil early but...so it goes:leaf:

Yellowing tips are common among nutrient burn, maybe to much nutes? I am surprised that the moby dick has such indica-esque features. For some reason I thought it was overly sativa.. wierd. Where did you get the seeds? I got a freebie feminized moby dick by dinafem from Attitude.

Same. As for the nute burn, I think that could probably be it too. Fox Farms dontcha know

She is quite beautiful ill give you that. If you are scared to over water her you have good reason for that fear, lack of water will cause leaf deterioration over a long period of time the vascular system with shrink and she will wither, but if you over water to frequently without letting the soil and roots dry, i.e. keeping the roots constantly damp will cause root rot and once a plant gets root rot there is very little you can do, but if she is under watered the solution is quite simple, just add water.
I only water once ever 2 to 3 days depending on how fast she sucks up the water. But when I water I throughly water her, from the bottom up by nearly submerging her in a bath of fresh water and wait for the bubbles to stop, then I remove her and let the excess water drain away. Try this method and you will like water you see also.
