Congratulations on your success. Just my two cents, I'm an AN hater. From my perspective the brag too much in their product description, make unrealistic claims, and most of all charge too much for the diluted product they market. I agree you can have good success using AN product, but I hate wasting money when as good or better results can be had using Botanicare (used for many years) or Vegamatrix (my new favorite). To each his own.
Why hate? I don't like that Botanicare is owned by Miracle-Gro and by proxy Monsanto but I'm not hating on it. I do hate those last two companies tho.

I lived 10 min down the road from AN's first facility. I like that they are a Canadian company and have proclaimed from the beginning that they develop their products specifically to grow pot with. They have been shunned by the rest of the industry that prefers to pretend that they want nothing to do with evil drug cannabis and make their products only for veggie and flower growers and have no control over what people do with it. How hypocritical is that eh. That alone is enough to turn me away from their products.

When people who have never used a product go out of their way to put that product down I don't consider their protests valid. I've never used GH for instance and tho they are another one of those companies owned now by Miracle-Gro I don't go around hating on them. I have in the 8 years I've been involved in helping newbies grow in various forums seen a lot of people fail using those nutes. When they have bothered trying AN the next time they needed to buy nutes they seem to do a lot better. Whether it's the nutes themselves or the guidance of an experienced grower is moot.

One of the main complaints is that AN is so expensive compared to others. All the hydro shops I've been to sell things like the 3part base nutes from GH or AN for almost the same price. Sometimes GH is a few dollars more and sometimes AN is but both are comparable in cost. The same type of supplements between the two is where there is usually a larger price difference and that's where it pays to know what you really need and what you can pass on.

If you want to hate AN it doesn't hurt them or me a bit. It's nice to know you're thinking about us at all. Hate only hurts the hater. Have a long and happy hate. :)

I wanted to try the next step up from the 3part and was going to get Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom but they were out of the Sensi Bloom so I got the Connie Bloom and the Sensi Grow. The Connie is supposed to be another step up from the Sensi. Now I've bought the 3part again and am just using up the others until they are gone. The 3part worked fine for 14 years and I didn't see any drastic improvements with the 2part stuff.

I saw huge improvements when I started using Big Bud so will always use that. Just tried the Bud Ignitor and the jury is still out on that. My current plants were grown from seed so not good candidates for comparing results with. Have enough left to try again on a few plants that will be clones from the same mother to get a better comparison. The guy that recommended the Ignitor also recommends the Bud Factor X for bigger buds and more resin.

I like to keep things as simple and easy as possible. Too many supplements complicates things and if all you get is another 5% then it's not enough to convince me to spend extra money or extra thought on it. I never used CalMag until a few years ago and never saw any deficiencies but use it now in small amounts just in case and it's cheap enough not to concern me. I'm not happy with the GrowTek one I have now so may buy the AN one to replace it. It has a lot of amino acids in it and the plants and I like aminos. :)

what strength and ratio would you use the 3 part during veg in pots and in Dwc?

How offen would you water using promix bx straight with 5 gallon smart pots? I got my tent 24- 27 temp, RH 50% with the help of a dehumidifier, I was water every 3rd or 4th day veg but now it seems to be every second day with 15% run off each time. Top of pots are pretty hard crusty by second day after watering, I also water with nutes every time, had no problems until now going into week 5 Bloom tomorrow, I watered yesterday, should I dry pots out more even when they feel dry? My next feeding I will be taking the Lucas formula into play dropping the Grow use half the Micro I would bloom, dropping everything else to 1Ml per litre, I only started to use rhino when I started Bloom only not at there recommended dose, should I stop rhino?

Micro half ML per L
Bloom 1ml per L
Rhino 1ml per L
Big bud 1.5 ml per L
Bud candy 1ml per L
Nirvana 1ml per L
Bud factor x 1ml per L
Sensizym 1ml per L
B-52 1ml per L
This is what I plan to feed next, do you think I need to let pots dry more or every second day feed good?

I started laying out the ratio and amounts you asked about earlier but am not feeling well today so went back to bed. Didn't help much so I saved what I had done and will finish it up later or tomorrow.

You should only water once the plants are almost completely dry. I lift the pots to decide when to water and for me in 4gal pots it's every 4 days. A gap usually appears around the top edge of the pot when they need more water. They sit in catch trays so I give them enough to get some runoff and let them sit in that for an hour then remove any that's left. That makes sure that the rootball is saturated with no dry zones. Last watered on the 9th so should be tomorrow again and they are getting just water.

I usually feed every second watering but during the stretch will feed maybe three times in a row depending on how I think the plants will take it. Then I might just water twice with a half dose of BB or something if I feel the plants have enough nutes for the time being. I overdid the nutes with these and had to partly flush them by saturating until well soaked then putting 5L water through them and removing that while testing the runoff ppm. Started at 1400 and went down to around 700 after flushing. Next watering I gave them BB and a lower dose of nutes and all was fine but after skipping one feed gave them a bit more nutes and one plant didn't like that and started to burn fairly badly. I did the flush on her again but put 10L of RO thru this time. She seems further along than the other three so should have been cut back on nutes a little sooner. As this is the first run with this strain I've been pushing them to see how much they can take and noting everything I give them to be able to dial them in better the next run.

Your proposed nute list looks pretty good and I'd use the Rhino too. You should get some pictures up.

This pic will show you what the burnt plant's buds look like compared to one that didn't burn. The one on the left is "A" plant and the other is "B". Same strain but from F1 seed so each plant can be very different than the other tho they went thru veg almost exactly alike. "A" is also showing much more purple than the others too so it looks darker than the others even without the burn.

Looking pretty good for the most part.

In the middle picture of the three I'm seeing signs of salts buildup in some of the larger fan leaves. The jagged edges of the leaves are curling up and browning. That and the very dark green leaves would indicate they've been fed a bit too much. Not bad at all yet but will get worse as flowering progresses.

Might want to cancel a feeding and just give water for the next watering or two. Either that or a partial flush then cut everything you listed in half for a feeding. I was just down checking my plants and they are getting that too so straight water to the end now. Plant A is coming down this weekend.

Me thinks doth protest too much and from a "homeboy" position. AN has many detractors and one does not have to use it to have an opinion on it. For instance I get "about a pound" every harvest utilizing <$10 in nutes. What can you grow with $10 worth of AN?

Probably. Have you tasted mine? Pretty sure that if you and I did a side by side with the same strain you would realize how much money and time you have wasted. That said, I am happy you are happy,
I believe you, this is my first grow, AN is all I know, they got me with there nice Ads in High Times, plus I like the fact it's Canadian, Ph perfect technology is worth the insurance, would you mind sharing your nute plan for veg and bloom?

I was told that doing it from res is not Efficient Enough for a proper cleaning
did you get sensizym? I quit cleaning my buckets each week after using it, the last couple grows I've only cleaned the res after the grow was done and I use standard dwc. Even though I use the beneficial organisms I had very little if any crud buildup so washing weekly just kinda became unnecessary

I'm using promix bx in 5 gallon smart pots right now, once this grow is done 6 weeks time I will be setting up my New RDWC 4 site plus control bucket all 5 gallon buckets,

I do use sensizym in pots, it cleans out pots too
I've been wondering about using promix now I may get a bale of it, when I started with hydro I used a soilless mix of verm and perlite it worked very well. Do you have to prep the promix in any way before using?
