my first butane oil extraction

hey guys i got 36 grams of the highestquality trim... i am thinking of making a pollinator out of some pvc with some end caps.. the usual design..

does anyone know how much oil i should expect and does anyone have any tips forme?

used 12 oz of high quality butane and got 2" by 7" pvp with two endcaps... used a coffee filter at the bottom.... it worked but the oil was darker then other oil i have seen before.... i think i might have done something wrong... i will try it again

It's a pretty simple process man. Fill your tube with good shake/trim and simply squirt your butane through and all the oil will drip onto a plate or whatever surface you choose, let it sit for a while to let the excess gas whither away, and then simply scrape it up...I got it down pat my first time :-)

I used the honeybee extractor, its nice and its cheap $30 bucks I think.
Put a coffee filter in the bottom, put your trimmings and busted stems and weed in the jar... shoot 2 cans of butane through it into a glass pan sitting inside a bigger glass pan with boiling water (to boil away the butane), wait an hour for it to boil away, smoke your oil and get blitzed. :bigjoint:

i used fan leaves from trimming.. i didnt think it was as potent as the stuff u guys are making.. not much of a fan first time around... we will see how it goes next time

The way I did it, it turned out perfect.
Nice golden amber colour, the smoke tasted sweet almost sugarish - and it got me blitzed.
A++++

On a side note, I have 40g of stems and I'm gonna add 1 oz of weed and make oil pretty soon.

how much oil would u get from a ounce of high quality bud?? and do you grind it up or leave the nugs whole

grind it all up, even the stems.
i dunno its hard to say... 1 oz of weed is like 7g of oil, depends how much butane u use.

u use low mediums or high grade bud???

I have always wondered that using this extraction method, does it extract what ever resin/thc content is in said weed. For example if you put in a once of bud you get so much oil, but with shake or low quality trim you get much less oil, but the oils are as potent as on another. Am I thinking this right?

the higher the quality of bud that goes in the better the oil will be.... everyone gets different amounts.. i would definitely try it with an ounce if i get like 7 grams of amber honey oil... yummm and the butane binds to only the thc and extracts it out into the butane... once the butane evaporates pure thc baby

For my set up I use 3/4x14" pvc. drill 5 holes in the bottom cap and one hole for the top. Put a coffee filter on the tube before the bottom cap. you want the scrap/bud dry and gound course fill the tube very full but not packed. I use 3 10.6 oz cans.
