My first aeroponic growth

Hi everyone!
I believe there's no better place for posting some questions regarding general cannabis growth.

After searching a bit more about aeroponic, and saw this old thread: Harvest a Pound Every Three Weeks!

I would like to invest in my first small aeroponic setup.
I've never been growing hydro or aero before, that's why I would like to gain some more knowledge and the necessary equipment list for my first small test.

I'm planning to start with 4 plants only (seeds only for now), within a 4x4x6 (120cm/W 120cm/D 180cm/H) approx.

I don't want to go crazy on my first test, so want to keep the budget within 1k dollars or so, even lower if possible.

Any suggestions regarding:
  • What kind of equipment to use (pots, pumps, etc.,).
  • Which light to use.
  • Which nutrients and how their feeding schedule looks like.

I hope if anyone can provide me more info and support on this, would be highly appreciated.

I use a Stinkbud system. A large Roughneck (20 gal?) with a 12 gal roughneck tub in it, 200-400 g/min pump in the bottom, up to a spray bar around the top tub. 2" netpots, I use 1-3 pots as the plants get pretty big. See my Grow for pix. SCROG net above about 12" above the top using pvc frame.
Don't glue the PVC as it makes it a pain to disassemble for cleaning. I use four or six spray nozzles around the spray bar aimed down not on top of the bar. IF you don't glue the spray assy, you can turn the nozzles down so they don't spray the top and leak.

Aim the spray so it just hits the bottom of the net pots. Assemble and test the assembly w/o plants to make sure it is aligned to NOT LEAK. This give about a 10 gal rez and tow plants will drink a gallon a day when they get bigger. You can use a cheap 15/15 timer for the pumps.

The roots stay in the upper 'root chamber' and you have to reach in and keep the roots from going down into the rez through the drain hole.
Buy a Harbor freight hole saw 2" is good for drilling the net pot holes and the hole for the pump uptake/drain.

Pix on page 3 show the system. Works good and it is cheap!

I would recommend a cycle timer. Set for 30-45 seconds every 3-5 minutes.

Also, have 2 spray bars with 2 pumps and 2 timers on the same rail. Have a UPS battery backup supply hooked to one of the spray bars, just in case the power go's out.
