Thx, I got close to 2oz with the Wonder Woman and these buds are much larger so I am hopeful to break 2oz. The Auto should yield well also, which is good because the un-trained Kannabia Special that is next up won't yield much (but the hash should be amazing). I think she got partially root-bound due to my poor transplanting techniques. When I fed her yesterday the water was very slow to go down/through her soil compared to the Wembley and Auto that just got flushed/drowned.

It is basically just a different (easier?) way to LST to promote more colas and an even canopy, with minimal stretch. I am able to veg plants (all different strains) for 6 - 8 weeks and they finish under 2 feet tall. That means the plant at 0 days of 12/12 and the plant at 50 days of 12/12 can both be closer to my lamps. If I veg'd a plant for 6 weeks with no training it would likely be 18"+ tall and finish 40" - 50"+ tall depending on the strain. My lights would need to be all the way up near the top of my tent and the newest plants in flower wouldnt be getting nearly the same amount of lumens that the taller plants do.

This is my own variation of his method, after trying a couple earlier plants with his method. There is a definite learning curve to this system but it seemed like the best way to minimize stretch, keep an even canopy, and use my perpetual system. I need to be able to move every plant, every day. I like to spin them 90 - 120 degrees once each day (to maximize my dual hood, dual spectrum setup) and these round cages seemed better than individual scrog screens (which I tried twice). I tried a bit of topping and traditional LST on my first grow and it was too much work trying to tie all the time. The cage does most of my work for me with this method.

I let the plant go to 5 or 6 nodes and then top above the 2nd node, and prune off the first node to keep the split of the 2 main stems higher over the soil. Once they get 6 or 8 inches I will put the cage over them in preparation of training (just caged my Anestesia yesterday). I remove the top ring of the cages I buy and try to set them high enough in the soil to be able to water under the bottom ring of the cage. The bottom ring is usually 5 - 7 inches off the top of the soil and the top ring of the cage around 13 - 15 inches above the soil.

Once the plant is ~2/3 of the way to the top of the cage I start bending her 2 tops over with wires to the bottom ring and around. I tie down as much of each steam as i can, in a couple of stages so i don't accidentally super-crop or break a stem. This stops the vertical stretch of the 2 main stems temporarily and lets all the lower growth head up as the main tops try to right themselves and start stretching again. Anything below the bottom ring of the cage, or that I think will be in my way during waterings, is pruned away.

Once I have started the SCOB training I try to get them moved to flower within 7 - 10 days to minimize the stretch. Once they start stretching I try to keep the 2 main tops just below the rest of the tops. I will adjust and sometimes remove wires if the main tops aren't catching up enough. On my Sugar Black Rose I super-cropped 3 of the other new tops because they got way too far ahead of the rest of the canopy.

After 7 - 10 days I prune off any tops that are facing down and/or won't be able to stretch enough to reach the rest of the canopy, and do a bit of lolli-popping below the top ring of the cage. My goal is to get 3 - 5 of the best lower branches on each stem to be even with the main tops so I end up with 8 - 12 nice colas around my cage. Some of the lowest buds on those long middle colas of the Wembley are a bit fluffy and destined for hash, so I still have lots to learn about pruning and lolli-popping to maximize my yield.

Once I get a couple of these SCOB plants all the way through harvest I will try to do a proper tutorial with pics of them from various stages.

I have a new problem but it is the best problem I have had to date. I tried taking a few pics tonight but will do a better job tomorrow if possible.

Ever since I moved the Auto out of the veg box and lowered my lights the node spacing is incredibly tight and close together. I am waiting for the Anestesia to get tall enough to train but she just is not stretching very much. Meanwhile she keeps putting out a couple nodes per inch and they keep growing. The new seedlings also have tighter node spacing than any of my other recent seedlings, and one of the current babies is the sativa dom SAGE.

It looks like I won't have a problem having enough branching to get my desired number of tops through training. :weed:

I trimmed down the stems from the first (un-drowned) Wembley harvest yesterday, and bagged them today briefly, before putting them into jars tonight. 33g including stems, so I should end up with near 2oz total (after I harvest, trim, dry, the rest).

The other half of the plant has been drowning for 6 days so far and she is still not done taking in water. I will likely harvest her and the Auto, tomorrow, but I have not decided for sure. I have seen others that drown/dark their plants as many as 10+ days.

I MIR+Nutes/Sups on a few flowering plants, and one veg plant today.

Kannabia Special: 56 Days 12//12
MIR 2 ga + 1ga (5ml SnowStorm Ultra + 10ml Sweet Raw)

Kannabia Special feminized has compact resinous buds and an intense aroma of candy qualified by the skunk scent. She is a very special smoke indeed.
I hope so!!

Afghan Kush Special [#1]: 17 days 12/12
Pruned, Trained, Super-Cropped 3 branches, MIR+Wk 4 Flower Nutes

Sugar Black Rose: 28 days 12/12
MIR + Wk 5 Flower + Guano P+N
Apparently: RO + GO Nutes + ProMix = CaMg Deficiencies, so I am doubling my CaMg+ dosage.

Motavation: 33 Days veg
MIR + Wk 3 Veg (and pruned)

Veg Box
I also decided to transplant the BK and SAGE earlier than normal in hopes that a well established root system will minimize the stunt/delay from topping.

Yes, the description of SAGE sounds awesome. I just dropped a Purple Maroc seed in tap water this evening to get back up to 12 plants. My Kannabia special should be ready for drowning/harvest soon, though I will be lucky if I get an oz from her.

I chopped and trimmed the rest of the wembley today (7 days drowning), while the first oz of it I cut last Monday went into Jars yesterday. She had too many colas and some of this cut was pretty fluffy because it was below the canopy so I got a lot of trim for hash. The Auto will get chopped and trimmed tomorrow after 8 days drowning in the dark. :weed:

I will go thru todays pics in a bit and try to upload some pics of the harvested buds.

The first samples I have been smoking, of what was harvested last week, is quite impressive. I suppose that is to be expected when you cross AK47 x BubbleGum. I will be ordering more of these seeds I think.

Anestesia: 38 days veg
She got so stacked with nodes she became a triploid. I am waiting for her to get tall enough to bend over and train but it is taking forever. I see lots of super-cropping in the future for this girl. :weed:

White Widow: 38 days 12/12
She is getting rather Mag deficient, so she got a teaspoon of Epsom along with double the CaMg+ in her nutes.

LSD: 47 Days 12/12
She also got a bit of Epsom Salt with her nutes and double CaMg+.

8 days in the dark/drowning and she never stopped drinking

Il Diavolo Auto: 79 Days from germ
20/4 under 550w veg lights, 8 days under 12/12 1kw flower, 8 days drown/dark

Kannabia Special: 58 Days 12/12
She got a quick flush and then I began drowning her. She will continue to drown, under the lights, until she stops drinking. She will not get an extended dark period. All the buds are tiny, perhaps the size of a nickel, so I hope it is potent. The hash should be killer if nothing else.

The 2nd cut of Wembley is hanging on the top of the rack. She should be ready for bags/jars in another 2 or 3 days.

Wembley trim from the 2nd cut up front (lots of popcorn buds) and Auto trim in back. I also got 10 - 14g of trim from the first un-drowned cut of the wembley.

Veg Box

Anestesia: 39 Days veg

Motavation: 35 Days veg

Burmese Kush (top/left); SAGE (bottom/left); Afghan Kush Special (top/right); Purple Maroc (germ tray)

Flower: Before lights out with the KKS starting the drowning process.

Sorry, I hate clickable pics, and I uploaded 40+ of them last night. I have 20mb fios from att uverse and it can take me a while to load one of my journal pages as well, so I can imagine how slow it can be.

Here is a link to my grow folder on photobucket, which should load better if you want to browse recent pics.
