My Eventual Perpetual Garden: Round 2

I changed the last post of pics to thumbnails on photobucket; hopefully it helps. Not as convenient as the built-in thumbnail pics for people reading the thread but photobucket is a necessary evil for me.

RIU uploader sucks, so let me know if you prefer thumbnails or full size photobucket pics.

Great, thanks all.

I am really starting to like using super-cropping to slow down the nodes that get too far ahead of my 2 main stems. I liked it so much I split one of the stems and had to duct tape it together.

So far I have only been doing it the first 1 - 3 weeks of flower but I am going to have to start trying to use it in late veg so I can start adding more veg time to my girls. The anestesia hasnt even been tied down to the bottom ring of the cage yet and some of the lower nodes are already taller than my two main tops. Hopefully she is tall enough I can tie her down now but once I do I will need to super-crop quite a few nodes.

Purple Maroc decided it was time to get moved to soil.

The 2nd cut of the Wembley was dry enough for paper bags, but not jars yet.
The 11.1g of popcorn/trim in the bottom was used, along with the 8.1g of trim from the first cut, to make some QWISO. Now I just have to go buy a scraper that wont put me in the ER.

Anestesia: 41 days veg
I decided to try something a bit different with her. She isn't tall enough for the training I normally do, in part because I bent her open a bit. I decided to FIM each of the 2 main tops to send that energy to the lower nodes. I saw someone mention this system before to reduce stretch and make a lot of tops. I am going to try and give her 4 - 7 more days of veg before flowering. Today I plan to super-crop the tallest nodes, in the center of the cage, to slightly below the FIM line.

I plan to try something similar on some more plants soon, possibly the SAGE. Top for 2 or 4 nodes and then FIM the main stems shortly before flower. I tried it once on my very first grow but the plant was a bagseed male and was culled quickly.

Here you can really see the Triploid branch, before the FIM.

It was a busy day in veg as all 6 plants got some sort of feed/water.

Anestesia: 41 days veg

Motavation: 37 days veg

S.A.G.E.: 18 days veg

Burmese Kush: 21 days veg

Afghan Kush Special [2]: 6 days veg

Purple Maroc: -1 days veg

I made a few changes yesterday. It was 80+ outside yesterday and the flower tent shot up to almost 84 when I closed it shortly before lights out. I decided to raise the hoods up 3" each to see if it helps. I am contemplating getting 2 digital timers so I can run each hood on it's own timer and stagger their on/off times a bit to reduce heat a little and save some electricity. I will wait to see how my other changes help before I try that though.

I removed the 150hps from veg and centered the 400mh which should be sufficient for my space. This will save me about 3kwh per day, which should translate to ~$12/mo less on the electric. It will also cut down on the heat in veg and the ambient temp of the utility room as it was the only light that wasn't air-cooled.

I super-cropped ~5 branches on the Anestesia yesterday and think I will transition her to flower today.

I also scraped up 2.8g of QWISO. :weed:

White Widow: 42 Days 12/12
She got 2ga of RO + 1ga of 5ml SnowStorm, 10ml Sweet, 1ml Gravity, 1tsp Epsom Salt, and 6tsp Oregonism.

LSD: 51 days 12/12
She got 2ga of RO + 1ga of 5ml SnowStorm, 10ml Sweet, 1.5ml Gravity, 1tsp Epsom Salt, and 6tsp Oregonism.

Niiiiceee. Your journal is one of my favorite to follow dude. I love the time and effort you put into growing some money ass plants and sharing so much detail with us. The widow looks fucking gorgeous.

She is actually starting to look deficient the last day or two, and I briefly thought I had mites but it is only her with the little 'spots' on some leafs. I will try to post some pics tonight or tomorrow, if they turned out. Hopefully my increased CaMg+ doses and Epsom Salt in the MIR's will help.

Today I soaked a Dinafem Diesel seed, moved the Anestesia to Flower, moved the Kannabia Special to darkness for more drowning, put the 2nd cut of my drowned Wembley into jars, trimmed the Il Diavolo Auto off the stems in preparation of paper bags.

'Twas a good day in the perpetual garden. :hump:

Curious, at what week of flowering do you start administering camag and epsom and at what dose?

The Epsom doesn't get used until I notice a problem typically, which was all the time when I used tap water. The White Widow didnt show any major deficiencies until around day 40. The CaMg+ is part of every feeding with my GO schedule but apparently it is pretty weak and most GO users that use RO water have Mag Def issues late in flower, but sometimes it can show itself in veg. I am increasing my dose of CaMg+ for all the feedings between 50 and 100% more as a result of my recent readings. Hopefully the increased dose throughout it it's life will prevent the issues.

Cool thx. I always have signs of camag def with FFOF and I try to combat them with additives without success. I'm done with the soil now and trying roots organics now, still going to use the ammendments so I will see soon enough how that works out. Usually only takes me about 2-3 weeks into flower then I see ca/mag def with FFOF. Ghetto!

I hate using calmag because it throws my ppm feedings way off. Hard to monitor what the plant is doing based on the runoffs when I'm boosting my ppms so much with calmag.

I used to have major issues until I went to RO water. It still happens but not as severe in most cases and not as early in flower as it used to. The White Widow has it bad right now. :(
