First timer here. I have been reading RIU for a while, but I finally registered so I could ask you about this! I want to use a flood and drain table. How could I adapt this cloner to prepare babies to put on my table? As of right now I am planning to use a combination of rockwool and hydroton as my medium. Any advice would be great!

Great thread dude +rep, one question i have is do you think the clones will root if just left submerged in water without the spray?

good day there DankDude......
you can very eacily use this proccess for that,
but i must admit,
i'm not sure how you would get rooted clones into rockwool.....
getting them into the hydroton is eacy, use a bucket of water and submerge the pot, put some hydroton into the submerged pot, only a bit, then hold the clone with roots into the submerged pot and gently finish filling the pot, when ya pull it outa the water the hydroton forms nicely around the roots without damaging them.......

i havn't done that proccess myself before but have watched it be done and seen the plants work perfect from then on with no stress......

so hope that helps ya some.........:joint:

and good day to you DodgeDread........

thank ya kindly on the rep, i try...... lol

as for clones in non moving water, it'll work but very slowly..... and if ya do it that way you will want to use nothing but water....

i must also point out that you can very eacily use an air stone or 2 to the same affects, they create big time bubble burst mist...... i'd try that at the leaste before going the slow proccess with sitting water.....

hope that helps....

I finally borowed a cam to get some pics, so here's a peak of the clones before they go into bigger pots, get trimmed to only a few top branches and toosed into 12 hour, wich is going to happen this weekend i think..... just waiting on a batch to finish to make room for them......

good day OneHit..... the clones are in the veg room with the moms, i have run a few moms thro to finish but only cause i only wanted the best moms left for cloning, plus i didn't need that many mom's of one strain....
there is presently these moms in the veg room 1-AK47xSSH, 2-HSS and 3-Romulan x SSH, they are all around the clones.....

as for the rotations....had lotza troubles with heat and as a result the first few batchs took for ever! got it down to an 8 week to finish time now...... after i crop off 1 batch today i'll then put the clones into bigger pots and into 12h...... i try to have clones 2-4 weeks in soil and veg before 12h.....
as for amount dryed each cycle, well, i just got things dialed in so havn't have a good full batch to judge off yet, i'll be able to answere that in a week tho after todays harvest dries.....

Nice, I really like your setup. Do you have a pic of your flowering room too? Those look like cabs to me, or is that actually a room?

Hey Epix
I finished my cloner and put 1/8 of the recommended use of growzyme. Didn't used anything else. It"s been 6 days now and still no roots. There's a white substance on most of the stems. Is that normal ?

like i mentioned before.

this is why you dont run your pump constantly (not to mention, clones need a period to dry out as well). running a pump constantly is NOT aero. biggest difference is aero incorporates air for explosive growth...if you are soaking the clones 24/7, they WILL take longer to root

the heat generated from the pump WILL cause slime, especially if your res temps ARENT in check.

you could use h2o2 to try to keep it at bay, but at this point....you may want to start over as the cuttings have been taken over by white gunk/slime/nasty cooties.

also a picture is worth a thousand words

my botanicare areo cloner takes the same time as epix's. 8-10 days..... i run my pump 24/7. i guess it might be better running intervals... but im short on timers right now lol... Pe@ce..

I keep the temp of the reservoir at 70 F.
I think it's the growzyme. I'll try take off the white substance as much as I can, empty the reservoir and clean it, refill it with only water and put some h202. I got 125 clones in there so I hope I won't lose them all.

I'll get a pic in a couple of min
