My 3rd grow - Turning a novice into an intermediate grower

I picked the worst time to be away from my plants for a few days. 4 days these plants went without supervision. I was surprised by what I found when I got home. My words earlier were very true.

"I'm not sure I'm ready to get results that good."

Turns out my cheap ass setup does not have good enough odor control. Surprise. My whole house smelled like weed when I got home. The home depot was closed, so I have to wait till tomorrow to upgrade. In the meantime, I can get a plan together for something that will be adequate for my grow space.

I can't believe my results with these lights. Here are the things I noticed when I took a look after a 4 day break, and 6 days total under these lights;

1 - much stinkier
2 - new pink pistils grew on the cola nearest my colormax purple light.
3 - seems like they're frostier than before
4 - Phosphorus deficiency

I upgraded my lights on Halloween and then again about a week later. I increased my wattage above the plants by a factor of 4 by upgrading my fixtures to HO and adding more fixtures. The 3000k bulbs took my plant to a point where I thought they stopped maturing. Check this side by side out. The first was after I came back, the second before I left. If you look at the top of the after picture, there are pink pistils that are not seen in the before pic.



I feel like, with new growth coming, I should address the phosphorus deficiency. I have to figure out how to use bonemeal per reefer's advice.

Also, one of my clones started flowering. So much for thinking this strain would get bigger before it flowered. I'll take more clones eventually.


So much to be done, so worn out from the holiday. I'll get it done though. Marijuana is my passion.

I got most of my lights from aquarium specialty last night. I was very busy and working hard and didn't have time to do an entry last night. I found a hydroponics store within a reasonable distance, so I bought Ona gel and an airpot. I upgraded my fan and put more activated carbon on my filter. I can't believe how fragrant my plant became after 1 week under partial aquarium lights.

Here is my current setup.
Fiji, 75.25, Fiji, colormax

Red sun, super actinic


I'm waiting on a 2' red sun and a 454 still.

I've gotta get her to veg again. It won't be long until I'm concentrating on the small plants. The large one isn't going to hold out much longer. I've tried to get more nutrients to it, but I think I was too late to make a difference. My buds are plumping and showing new growth. I just hope that whatever I get off this girl smokes ok.

I plucked one more bud off this plant yesterday. It was much bigger than the first ones I picked. Much stickier too.
