Don't know about that because I don't do mushrooms but my friends got them and took them right away and they were very strong from what I saw. There are lots of smart shops maybe you went to the wrong one :S I dont know

Ok, I think I have to clarify the shroom situation here in Holland... Psilocybe Cubensis mushrooms are ILLEGAL to sell, cultivate, or possess. However, due to a loophole in the law, psychoactive truffles are still ok to buy and use (in a private place.) If you are in Amsterdam, I would highly recommend the smartshop Consious Dreams on Warmoesstraat. They have a wide range of interesting products and are very knowledgeble, so even if you don´t want shrooms, it´s still worth to check it out. Don´t buy any "herbal ecstacy/coke/acid/whatever" it doesn´t work, and costs a lot. The exception is Salvia Divinorum. That stuff is strong, be careful with it.
Amnesia fans (such as myself) HAVE to go sample the Amnesia at Amnesia Coffeeshop. Usually it´s the best in town. Barney´s has some good weed and some crap weed. All of it is expensive, but some is worth it. Ask the budtender for his recommendation. their Dr. grinspoon is not worth 17 euros/G though. Its good, but not quite THAT good. LSD (sweet, flowery smell, strong indica stone) and Acapulco Gold (grapefruit smell, nice sativa high) was very good. Greenhouse has good weed quite often, as does Grey area, but its not cosy to sit it, and there are only two tables + a couple barstools. Their Chocolope was great! Resin Coffeeshop is also worth going to. Their Cannatonic was very good, and the place is fun to sit, smoke and chill in. I´ll definitely be going back there!

I cant believe none of you mentiomed the Rijksmuseum!! 
. If you hit the van gogh museum you have to hit the Rijksmuseum. Its even cooler. Its irght next door, and its one of europes top art history museums, meaning they have stuff from every age, every civilization...youll see badass roman, greek, egyptian, african, hindu, budddhist art sculpture architecture wall ornamentals, friezes, all kinds of great art and history. Very fun to go thru while high.
