Morel hunting & scouting for outdoor places to grow.

I want to, but I'm not familiar enough with my current location to start a guerilla grow.

I have about 5 little 'yote pups that just started growing, though.
I hear that.. I like it. Sometimes it gets changeling though... exsply stumbling your way through the woods once it gets dark on ya... lol been there done that. Now I remember to take my flashlight. Lol I always make sure to move anything such as water, nutes, etc at night to keep frm anyone seeing or knowing what I'm doing.

We get a lot of brown bears around here. And deer, which would likely fuck my crop up.

I grew Lion's Mane mushrooms on the advice of a friend after I severed the nerves to my deltoid muscle (and ruptured my bicep and broke my thumb) in a MC crash in '08 and after eating fresh mushrooms and also freeze-dried capsules for ~8 months, my nerves regenerated and my deltoid started working again..

Hell yeah.. ok so after the rye grain is spawn, and you are ready to introduce it to the compost, what do you place the compost in, some sort of tote or ?

That would be awesome. I have nerves severed in my right hand from jacking up this stupid fuck who pulled a blade on me last year. I didn't realize it was a blade because I was a few doubles of Bourbon deep at the time and he had pulled a pipe on me earlier that day.

Lions Mane is the shit!! There's also another edible mushroom that grows out in the woods that called "chicken of the woods". Taste exactly like chicken nuggets!!!

I just checked and the USA east of the Big Muddy is elm country ... grew up in MD where Dad took me mushroom hunting as a pup. never found morels. But chanterelles? Oh yes. My abso favorite mushroom (not counting yeast, my Spirit Animal) ... but I have not tasted a morel.
Chanterelles, boletes and the odd weird one ended up in the home bag. I quickly learned to recognize Amanita virosa (the Destroying Angel) and the various showy but emetic Russula species. I looked always for a Stropharia/Psilocybe and never saw a one.

A former boss was a mushroom hunter (old Swiss guy) and he told me that morels and truffles can be cultured, but nobody has managed to culture Cantharellus. Shame; they are glorious slow-cooked in butter.
