I've been busy as hell all week with setting up my account and profile for Monster.com

Many of you I'm sure know what Monster.com is all about but.. for those of you who may not know what it is.. I'll tell you.

It's basically a website dedicated to supporting people in finding work. Rather it be part-time; full-time; temporary work; seasonal work; etc.. etc...

It's pretty cool... I'm still setting up my account and profile though so I'm not sure about how well it will work in aiding me in finding some kind of work where I can at least have some cash in my pocket ya dig?

Anyhow.. if you have not yet tried Monster.com I personally would recommend it to anyone who is currently jobless like I am (I got "laid off"... it sucks).

28 years old this coming February... and my father is paying my vehicle note from the bank.. which is 483.91/monthly plus my insurance.. so yeah it's really deadly to a mans ego.. LMAO.

Can't give up though.. even though some times i feel like I want to.. but I know that if I just give up and stop trying.. I know then for sure nothing will come way. So therefore; I must keep moving forward each day and hope for the best.

Peace everybody..

I've used monster and careerbuilder before, and still do every once and a while. I have never got a call back from anyone on either site. I'm gonna go take a looksie now in fact.

I would suggest Monster.com bro.. and no i dont work for them.. or affiliated with them what so ever..

I was just wondering if anyone has ever used it before. I signed up a week ago and I got a call the other morning from an Insurance company. They read my resume on my Monster.com account.. and actually CALLED ME!!! to make an appointment for an interview. I was surprised like a mofo. Never thought it would really work.. they proved me wrong for sure.

Now rather I get the job or not.. who knows right? but maybe it will work out for me.

good luck with your endevour!

peace.

watch out with monster.com. there's a lot of companies that promise a lot of money, and stuff, and it's really a pyramid type scheme. i suggest checking every company out on ripoffreport.org, or just google the name of the company + rip off .....

just in case, i used to get a lot of emails for 'jobs' that turned out to be nothing but scams.

i would rely more on local staffing agencies, even craigslist, instead of monster.com...

second what redivider says. i was laid off too, and did the monster.com thing. think i got 2 legit companies responding to my resume. i think one was a customer service job, nothing specific, but enough info for me to say no. the other was a scam and was upset that i would get such thing from monster and removed my resume. now i have representation and just freelance. craigslist is a great resource thou. check jobs for film projects too. sometimes they need extras or production assistants. usually feed you and pay you. not sure if you're in a large metro area. but it kept me fed and money in my pocket for a couple of summers.

I changed jobs last year ( a year ago on February 1st, to be exact), and I registered on both career builder and monster.com. I had one or two legitimate contacts from those, but most were people trying to scam me. After a couple months a friend suggested I try craiglist, and within a week I had two legitimate interviews and a new job a few days later.

wow I didn't think this thread would be all that popular.. boy was I wrong eh?

grazie! :)

I registered with Monsterjobs.com and didn't get any job offers for a few weeks.. but when I put my resume up on my account.. that's when I started getting job offers.

I got a job at Liberty National Health/Life Insurance... but I dunno. I'm not very good at selling things... never have been so I'm not sure if I'm going to stay with the company all that long.

I mean don't get me wrong.. the company offers great benefits to its employees such as free life/health insurance... but I'm more worried about making enough money to support myself. Not sure that this job is the one that can do that... since you almost have to make a sell or two per week.. to be able to make any kind of money through that company..

I'm more of a construction type.. or automotive type. Something like that.. is right down my alley.

So yeh I just may say the hell with Liberty.. and just try and find something where I know I can expect a pay check every week or every other week ya dig?

I'm out for now.
peace.
