moldy meds from Tilray

That looks like powdery mildew , your first pics look like white mold
looks straight mold to me.
the kind you get with an improper dry/cure.

forget about the few shills.. you obviously have many more here who were interested and are thankful for you sharing, than ones (for some reason) trying to argue the point against obviously tainted pot.

*notice your vid was very typical.. seems there's always some crap that likes to float after flush eh ;)
some narration would've made that vid epic :D

After I sent philippe the new pics and video today he said
"We re-tested this batch and were happy to see it come in super low in biological impurities and well within the safe range. Unfortunately we may never know what happened to these buds once they left Tilray, but thanks for the pics." I offered to let them test it when I first brought it to their attention and again when I sent the new pics, but their happy with the idea that something happened to the meds once in Purolator's hands. Personally I would think they would jump at the chance to prove it was something that definitely did not originate from them or definitely did come from me. I dunno maybe they could say where the mold normally is found and extrapolate from there it's likely source, ie fruit, bread, cheese etc. Or maybe they are worried that testing it would prove it came from one of the "biological impurities" they found, albeit in small amounts. Or perhaps someone on the packaging line didn't wash their hands. I don't know much about mold but I would think there should be no acceptable level of contamination if your goal is to have higher standards than private medical grows. As far as I know anyone can produce cannabis with small amounts of bacteria and spores, but L.Ps claim to have taken things to the next level and justify their high prices by saying their process is far beyond what the average person is capable of achieving. If that's the case i want non irradiated contaminant free weed. Which is impossible because its a plant and things like to grow on it unless you treat the plant somehow. So really, the only thing these L.Ps are capable of doing that the average citizen is not is paying for the irradiation if they choose to go that route. I held on to a few moldy buds in case anyone I notified is interested in having it tested. Or maybe if anyone on here works in a lab or knows someone willing to help out I would gladly send it to you to test for what it is. Given their track record I don't think HC will do anything if I tell them . I did send info to conroy and to the local tv stations (global, ctv and cbc) if anyone has any other ideas that would be great.

No shit eh crusher. This phillipe assclown sounds really ignorant or was told by the money man to play it of as someone else's fault. Also if they are blaming it on the shipping company well that does not sound like a safe reliable source of medicine to me!!! Having to worry that our medicine is being tampered with! Another wonderful aspect to this fledgling for profit not patient system all these people have to try and use. Bring back the mmar!!! More ammo for Sir conroy. Lol

Peace

I'm sure the Purolator driver goes around with a large needle stabbing packages or secretly opening them.... The guy sounds like a weasel that's for sure!

you should ask Purolator for a comment hahaha they would be like "WTF U talking about?"

The only way I could see something going wrong during the shipping process is if it was in tilray's shipping department. Like I said before, the vacuum bag the order is sealed in no longer had vacuum. It was loose around the bags. So that bag definitely had a hole in it. It's highly unlikely that the Skywalker bag also had a hole in it but, that goes to show that that order wasn't handled properly. So, it's not that far of a stretch to assume that other steps along the way weren't performed properly. Like maybe someone on the packaging line didn't wash properly before going into the clean room, or they brought something in on their facial hair and weren't wearing a beard cover. I would still really like to have this stuff tested cause I'm sure when the mold is identified we could narrow down the source and determine what conditions were needed for that particular strain of mold to flourish. Maybe someone who knows more about mold than me could tell me if that's how it works or not.

If I was being paid the way people say Tilray pays their employees I sure wouldn't care that much about following all the rules. It's too bad that an economically depressed part of the country is being exploited for cheap labour.

one would think that they would be watching the employee's at harvest and drying and packaging blah blah.... where was the QA guy? LOL. No recall? funny every other LP that had a smell of mold got recalled and HC involved. That's why this is weird. Should have asked for test results and posted them

Well the fact that they wanted me to destroy it instead of sending it back is weird. No evidence no incident I guess. Good thing I held on to a few buds. Hopefully someone I've reached out to takes an interest in this and can pick up where I don't have the time or resources to continue, ie lab testing.

Last time I brought something to their attention they said they weren't getting involved. So, it will be a waste of time. I'm hoping one of the TV stations I contacted decides to do something. Then they will also find out about HC ignoring the fact that I found out about the P.N k farms recall on RIU long before I was contacted by PN and long after I had used all the K farms. I'm hoping it will all come to light soon enough, but I figure between Conroy, Global, CTV and CBC someone wants to run with this.

Alright I'm sending them an email. However, If Conroy hasn't jumped all over this by now and he wants to change the system I don't see HC who want to keep the system doing much either. This is what I wrote to them:

Hi,

I am writing to inform you that I received moldy cannabis from Tilray. I have tried to deal with them however I find their response to be inadequate. When I offered to send it back for testing they said they would prefer if I destroyed it. I feel a test would be beneficial to determine the type and origin of the mold. They are currently claiming they tested the stuff they still have in house and that it tested low for contaminants and, that they are certain something must have happened to it in transit. That being said, they use Purolator for shipping. Purolator does not require a signature upon delivery so I usually find it sitting at the base of my stairs to my home. Which I also find unacceptable. It is just in the open, where anyone could steal it. When the package arrived, the box was sealed but the vacuum sealed bag containing the smaller bags of medication was no longer vacuum sealed. It was loose, but I still had to use scissors to open it so there must have been a small hole in it. I did not open the bag of Skywalker OG immediately as I still had some from last order. When that ran out I opened the bag and began to inspect the buds and transfer them to the jar I keep my cannabis in. That's when I found the mold. The first thing i noticed was that the cannabis was much damper than usual and had a musty odor to it. The other strains I ordered at the same time were fine but, then again they were not left in the bags for as long. Upon finding the mold i immediately notified Tilray and it was not until the next day until i was able to speak to an employee. It quickly escalated up the chain of command and i wound up speaking to Philippe Lucas, VP of patient research. Pretty much from the get go they were making the assumption that it was nothing they had done but, how can they be sure if they don't want to test the product I received. They sent me a replacement order and asked that I destroy the first order that was contaminated and video tape it so that the replacement amount would not count against my monthly allowance. So, I did just that however I "quarantined" the initially non moldy Skywalker to see if it eventually became moldy as well, and I also held on to a small amount of the moldy cannabis incase it did later need to be tested. So after a few days I checked on the previously non moldy cannabis and it did begin to grow mold as well. At that point I took more photos and recorded the destruction video to send Philippe. I sent the photos to Philippe and was essentially told that they may never know what happened to that bag of medication I received but thanks for keeping them informed on how things are progressing. So, I am now writing to inform you and hopefully you can hold them to a higher standard than I was able to. I am including a link to my Dropbox account where I have uploaded the photos of moldy cannabis and video of the destruction of the infected cannabis. I also still have the sample I retained of the moldy cannabis incase you would like to test it yourselves.

Symptom, they will take you as seriously as you make the situation seem. In my books, this is very serious and i would portray it as that. Call the 1877 MMAR number and then ask for a manager or supervisor...i actually got transfered to a higher up fairly easy.

And people, stop calling this powdery mildew...its full fledge mold. Go wet some bread and leave it in a zip lock...same thing growing on that weed.
