modular overkill led striplight build

@cobshopgrow nice they will be perfectly fine vegging at 400 ppfd, and your efficient far sure lol and your light distance should keep them sort same as my own. As for the critical, yeah some of the phenos where a heavy feeder but still kept the light coloured leaves so that's perfect. If you don't light stress them they will continue to be heavey on the feed.
Lux meters are fine more for spacing out the lights to get even coverage but certainly not for a proper light reading.
Looking really good and healthy so party time soon I would think.

cause i am too lazy to rent it :-) also i dont know a place where i can rent it.
just realized 130 is for a week, hm, why not?

i didnt played too much with it it, but one thing quite important for me.
My lux meter is showing halfway crap.
The lower the light temparature becomes the worse it gets, my quick observation.
6500k led, is ok, lux values are comparable, but 3000k, several k difference.
No doubt, id like to own one of those beauties, but cant bring myself to pay 2k for one. It would end be more expensive than my led rig, lol. But if you plan on playing with different configurations over a period of time, nice to have it on hand.
I would love for you test it outdoors, at different periods to see how the spectrum shifts on an average day.
Ill probably rent on in a month or two.

i dont want to force anyone to buy a overpriced tool, like a spectromaster.
so far i enjoy this piece of tech and plan to use it from time to time.
could argue to myself that i save a lot growing my own, but well.... dont really work.
Setting the light works with a luxmeter too.
But i have to say that i quickly learned that my meassured lux values where always too low, 10 seems to be 15, 15 seems to be more like 22 and so on.

I can do some daytime meassurements, i just have the problem that there is hardly any sun outside, if any, mostly cloudy short days.
Maybe that is more interessting in summer ?

thanks, i hope they will do well with the 400ppfd for today.
I could save even more watt by hang the light lower but thats borderline to work with, thinking of it, if i would look for some g per w ratio record, above spectrum, hung lower, without 730nm would give some good results am sure.

i will do as you say and keep what i am doing, i also think its not that wrong now.
will probably set them to 12/12 within ithe next days, theyre going now.
the nutrient mix should work normally, N 100,P 40,K 180, MG 50, CA 110, S 70
think i will use h2o2 during flower, going sterile, before i always used bennies throughout flower but would be nice to get away without brewing tea.

to me it looks like i got 3 different phenos, one differs a lot, the nicest plant right now.

Care to share the site? It’d be cool to rent one in the future for builds with separate channels/supplemental lighting
My apologies folks, i goofed a bit. I read the rental unit as the 7000 model but its the 700 model, its a little cheaper, and i imagine with less features. Im going to look into the difference but heres a pic.....the site lensrental.com

today my light got a upgrade.
added a fe 140mm fans on top.
not that they really need it, it helps a lit to keep the leds cool and push the heat towards the canopy.
in summer i can reverse this setup and suck the heat away.
they run on a very low wattage, what i spend in energy here i will probably safe on the leds, as they run cooler.
i can do some thermal cam pics later in flower when there is some load, atm, theyre almost room temp, not interessting.
also hope that the fans will help a little to avoid bud rot.

This is why juring the winter months you should swap if possible your intake and extract around, intake from the top of your tent/space and extract out the bottom. Keeps the leds cool and your plants roots on track.
Not something everyone can do but if they can then why not, it's free.

oh yes! the way you say it would be the uncompromising solution, for sure worth a thought.
max day temp i could reach is about 23c.

just meassured the power draw of the 6 x 140mm Arctic P14 fans,, theyre advertised to be very efficient with their sine wave driven bl motor.
2W at the wall, for all fans driven by a generic 5V USB power supply.
even those cheap power meters arent that precise at such low wattages, power draw is nothing.

i think i shouldnt go overboard with the 730nm.
the strain is knowen to be a bit lanky and now we´re going nearer to flowering i want to play it safe.
so from now i will let the 730nm just run a the end of the day for a few hours plus 5min four the good night effect, EOD.

i took some under canopy measurements and i can confirm, the 730 nm penetrates like h...., there is a clear peak to see if you measure trough the leaves.
you can take a meassurement from the lowest point in the canopy, covered by many leaves, and 730 is the strongest light peak, comsidering i use just a 6w for the area, it should tell us something.

even thats impressive, i dunno if 730nm is any needed in veg tbh., not sure at all.

i will give a few hours 365nm from now on, around lunch time.
they may like it at it kill some spores, eventually.
will see, so far it looks to be ok.

np, sometimes my english is a bit on the edge also, what would be clearer? (dont get me wrong, honest)
Increasing light output.
But clear to me after understand the context wich you were using level.
Nice rig, what and how much are you using for the 365nm?

this is the average spectrum i am using atm.
containing 90 wall watts 3000k, and 12 wall watt 660nm.

Untitled_014_02°_2875K_SpectralDistribution.jpg

still some 365nm at noon and some far red at the end of the day to simulate a bit the cardian rhythm, as good i can.
the 730nm all day made em a bit too strechty, far red is a powerfull tool.

so far, beside that the ladys are experimental rats theyre doing ok and theyre not so far from flower i would say.

i couldnt resist raising the light level today, lets hope it all goes well, 544ppfd right at the tops.

3000K 107W
660nm 18W
730nm 7W

Othewise plants are happy.

Thats some out there intensites for just a bit over 120w! You could probably flower that space with only a little more. Impressed!

Take a look at this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/spectral-lightmeter-gigahertz-optik-msc15.913239/page-11#post-12989803 around post 38.

Malocan was one of the first posters that had a spectrum meter, he made some measurements of spectrum of light travelling thru 1,2 and 3 leaves to see what spectrum it would turn out, to see what was absorbed and what not. No surprise, loads of far red and green left. And 660-700 gone, deepest at 680.
