wonderfull video, thanks for that.
I just knew his far red video, therefore i feared some stretch.

Watching the video makes me think of adding some 390-410nm leds also, while there wont be a effect on weight or thc/cbd, so not sure about that.
Maybe it will make a taste difference using 390-410nm.

So far i "just" have 365nm leds mounted, in the small hope that the most agressive UVA i could find on the quick will do most damage to the plant, more resin.

btw. this was the deciding factor for going with 365nm

Quote:
"A peak of activity at approximately 360 nm, which is characteristic of most blue light responses (Horwitz, 1994), is also present in the action spectrum for stomatal opening. Although the ratio of the activity at 360 versus 450 nm is lower for stomatal opening than for phototropism (Baskin and Iino, 1987), the presence of a peak in the UV-A region of the spectrum has implications for the identification of the blue light photoreceptor in guard cells. It has long been argued that the 360 nm peak in the action spectra for phototropism, the inhibition of hypocotyl elongation, and other blue light responses are indicative of a flavin chromophore for the photoreceptor, whereas the fine structure of the broad peak in the blue region of the spectrum has usually been interpreted as diagnostic for a carotenoid (Thimann and Curry, 1960). Various speculations regarding the micro-environment of either a flavin or carotenoid chromophore have been invoked to account for the presence of both multiple peaks in the blue light range and the peak at 360 nm. "

i dunno how much it will give us in the end as we always have some 450nm in our 450nm phospor based led lights., even a very little 420nm.
Regarding 420nm 4000K could be interessting as it offers a little more there.

On the other hand it is may not sensefull to overdo it in the blue region.

When will you use the 365nm and how often .will you need a timer or some kind of contrôle.

Geeklight from allibaba have there v4 witch they use a app to controle ir uv...not sure how.

So far i planned to give them a little uv soon and see how they react.
But am not sure, maybe just in late flower, last weeks.

look a page back if you want, i use a bunch of these gosund smart plugs, their timer was the main reason to buy, it is precise.
Didnt looked at the geeklight but quite sure it also some esp32 stuff, similar to what i use.

Id check out nachooos approach: uv from day one starting at a couple of percent of total wattage and working yourself up..
With this run i am may not able to get into uv that much, Nachooo is using much more UVA all wavelenghts (think 30w square meter) plus his UVB setup.
Planned to use the reptile bulbs for UVB and more UVA, but not sure if i will use it with the critical in the 3x3, have some problems finding a place for the bulbs, lol.
I plan a square meter tent in prarallel, pretty much the same lamp, 2cm bigger, there i will have space for the reptile bulbs in the corners.
But ok, even if the 365 dont bring us more THC, it could have a nice counteracting effect to the far reds and may open the stomata a bit more.

Hey Zypheruk, thank you! i value your opinion very much, you know all iam growing allready, youre my strain guide btw.
I will update for sure, thing have just started to become interessting.
Would love to get some help for determine the point of switch , really scrachting my head there, they should be stretchers and theyre from seeds.

@cobshopgrow normally 1.5x stretch on the critical+2.0 some phenos can get a little spindly so be prepared to throw a net over them for support.
The stretch really will depend more on the lights, how close and how much power. Very little I grow stretches unless I raise or reduce the power on the lights, but full flower on the top shelf reads about 850-950 at canopy. The vertical strips I have no idea what the ppfd on them are as I had a loan of diyleduks par meter before I changed everything in the lower shelf.
Next strain for you Dinafem - Purps or Blueberry Cookies both are very nice.
Take it easy.

i can start to throw 365nm on them to keep em short if in need, but they vegged a long time under 6500k and are pretty much bonsais atm.

your advice is worth a lot and help me tons, thank you!
looks like you just recommended me some strains, haha.
am sure your vertical setup will work out great to what i saw.

some morning pictures above for you, they just woke up a good half hour ago.

thanks for the hints!
Oh yes there structure is complete different to what i got used to, kush.

So far the stretch looks to be ok, even with the 730nm on all day (even 5min end of day, so they get a cosy 6h sleep).
While they vegged with 6500k, mostly blue and are allowed to stretch out a bit now.

I like cookies, did it once, lovely taste, good high, just didnt liked the bud structure and yield ( the gardener was a factor too for sure!, was a DWC try)
Will have a look on purps, afghan did me always good, thank you!

Have to say your "the new" pictures are mouth watering, stable genes also, hmmmmm.

One question for the critical, to me they appear to be heavy feeders, never had a strain like this wanting so much.
Till now i never had a high runoff EC.
Last was EC1.5 in (some of it is epsom salt) and 1.4-1.6 out.
I feed Hakaphos Base 3- 3+15+36(+4) , Calcinit, Epsom Salt, in a roughly 6:6:4 ratio.
2 of the 3 look a very light in feed, tad too pale, but overall ok.

maybe interessting for you.
i posted in the wrong thread.... but interessting to see, after the use of uvb the plant seems to not take the uva photons for photosynstesis, like applying a sunblocker.

rent one, test a shitload of configurations, take notes, send unit back. why would one need to own such a unit? seems overkill
cause i am too lazy to rent it :-) also i dont know a place where i can rent it.
just realized 130 is for a week, hm, why not?

i didnt played too much with it it, but one thing quite important for me.
My lux meter is showing halfway crap.
The lower the light temparature becomes the worse it gets, my quick observation.
6500k led, is ok, lux values are comparable, but 3000k, several k difference.
