So the First and Second license have to given to Prairie Plant Systems and it's subsidiary called CanniMed Ltd., which will be the distribution and support hub for patients and physicians, as well as the brand name of the pharmaceutical-grade pot products.

According to the post I read, they are having 3 different brand, each with different THC and CBD.. Currently they have around 11,000 patients.

Anyone else have any headways in this?

Maybe what I read in the Canada Gazette was really old or something but they showed only 75 people using the gov"s supply.
Left me wonder why????? Now maybe those numbers have blossomed into 11,000,but its quite a spread....
Now I read this more than a year ago,so I dont have a direct link to this info....but I will check back and try to post it.
I have not ordered anything myself, from them so I can't comment on quality,appearance etc.
I have not heard good things from 2 who have.
I also find it strange the numbers are way off what I had been reading but if HC has 26,000 users plus/ minus at present and I have read there are plus 20,000 people with grow or designate grower licences so how is it they have 11'000 customers....
Can you grow for yourself and order from HC or Praire plant systems??
Is that not sorta double dipping?

Does anyone know for sure what type of zoning you will have to have? I am looking at buying a property but do not want
to invest all my money and find out I needed industrial zoning. My realtor has some properties for me to look at that are zoned
RL-1 and R-2. Does anyone know if this is ok? Thanks

Each municipalities zoning will be different you should call your local zoning office and confirm which zoning is applicable to your intended use same applies.

11,000 orders. not customers. works out to 916 people a month. I love pseudo mathematics! (11,000 orders/12 months=916 orders per month). Variables to consider - a person ordering more than once per month.

I though I read somewhere all of Canada have around 32k paitents.. a stat based on early 2013 or something similar

Don't forget they made getting a prescription easier those 11,000 might not even be part of the 30k registered now.

Hi Mike: In our area, R zoning often means residential. I think that may not work. Not sure at all but I would call Health Canada and find out before you buy. You may need either a C for commercial or A for agriculture zoning. Please let us all know how this works out.

No point calling health Canada, you need to call the local zoning/planning office. You will probably be able to use agricultural, some industrial, or potentially some commercial, really depends on your municipality.

Hi Vangro. Thanks for the compliment! Tried private messaging you but I guess you can't receive them yet! I am on strike posting anything new until Maximum posts something new and updates us on his progress to date or that he has quit....

I think Maximum has hit the same roadblock I have...can't find a landowner willing to lease for Cannabis production. I have tried to contact him several times, but no reply. Hope the Dudes OK.

Well for the GTA.. for sure you will needed High Voltage Zoning... or else you can't even get the proper power for your building to use for all the grow light. Beside that I am sure there are other Zoning..

Hope no one kidnapped Max during his search for a place to rent..

I am having a hell of a time creating a Standards of Production write up. There are so many things that I feel I am missing. Anyone written one and can help me see what I am missing? So far I have broken down into a bunch of subsections: Sanitation, pest control, mould control, distribution, sale, testing, storage, destruction, and post market surveillance. I have never written anything like this before. Am I even on the right track? Do some of these items not belong in this type of write up? Are there other sections that seem obviously missed? Any advice from someone who has written one of these? Thanks a lot in advance.

Yes you are right about the zoning. I contacted the local municipality and was told that I would need to be in the ALR or industrial zoning.
They really did not know too much about the new regs. At first they tried to tell me that under the new regs no small operations would be allowed. I told them this was not true and that Health Canada had assured me on several occasions that as long as you meet the requirements you will get a licence. She checked on this and got back to me with the answer to my zoning questions. Also you cannot be close to a school.

100% completely correct, they have to let everyone apply, even companies from other countries are allowed and have began the processes. This doesn't mean that anyone will get approved, it just means...They have too, its your rights. There are under 60 licenses being given out. 30,000 members looking for meds, you do the math on the scale needed to help everyone on the list. good Luck to you all... but really speak with a lawyer, its well worth it.
