Lots of different opinions on nutrient choices.
Miracle-gro is super cheap and available everywhere.

But why not use it?

Ever done a comparison?

Any folks content with MG?

At this point I've used MG for 5 grows, seen results that don't make me upset, but perhaps that is ignorance.

What are your thoughts?

Aside from the reality @chuck estevez mentioned, Scott's (the company who owns Miracle Gro) is a pesticide company known for doing unethical and illegal things. They pleaded guilty in a case where they knowingly were selling birdseed covered in pesticide that was deadly to birds and wildlife.

They also have ties to Monsanto.

I'm a whole-hearted nature lover. I refuse to support these anti-nature and anti-human corporations.

I used Miracle Gro for one grow, then learned the truth about it.

It seems the largest reason to use it is its price. There are other nutrients at the same price point with better reputations. Jack's Classic, for example.

I use Grow More Sea Grow which is roughly the same price as MiracleGro. It has organic components, enough that the taste is substantially better than purely synthetic nutrients.

OC + is what I am currently using with just RO water and cal-mag a little and it works amazing. It will take me FOREVER to run out of the one bag I got...like seriously, you use a tablespoon per gallon and the bag is like 2 pounds...

Or Dynamite...I am just saying these are goodTRFs

Correct me if I'm wrong but other than the ethical practices of some corporations are nutrients not basically all the same?

Most large companies are unethical or rely on unethical companies doing the nitty gritty for them so they may step forward too. On this basis i wouldnt use anything comercial and until the day every single human is morally correct i'll think the best choice of soil to make is the one that grows the dankest weed not what it ethically deems right or wrong in its implementation of company politics.

yeah, miracle gro works. Ingredients are ingredients. Some are just synthetic. I; for similar reasons as spek9, do not use miracle gro. But then again I couldn't squash a bug without feeling remorse.

Theres nothing wrong with live and let live, right?:peace::leaf:

I found an article or thread or something similar that said that and did comparison of some ingredients which were proportional similar for the most part.

i prefer organic but we are talkin on a weed it will grow with just water without food and supliments like in nature it will all be up to genetics for size and POTency like in nature

if you know how to grow you can controll some things - how to grow is your biggest tool over bigger light, super foods, special pots and soils, and setups. Read and experiment dont follow unless identical set up what you grow and why you grow

njoy yo grow

I have a two going in the time release right now.
they are budding and healthy.
I recently started adding fox farm grow big and tiger bloom.
The yellowing of the lower fan leafs were my clue to start feeding.
I will be real light on the grow big as im sure there is still some time release left.

But outdoor on fairly large bushes so far so good.

Should anything bad happen i will post what I did that caused it.

Honestly the stuff did a great job of keeping them green right up to flowering. Stalks are great etc.

Im not sure about heave metals and if the plant takes them in and causes harm or not.
I guess that will be my next thing to study.
So it being a mystery to me would be my main concern.

Any input on this as far as mg is concerned?

One persons "heavy metals" is the next persons "trace elements".

Actually look at what fertilizers are used in your basic food production and you will not be so concerned about your smoke. But I do not worry too much about vegetable contamination.
