Anyone outdoors and having issues with the rain? I was out to check mine (they were put out a week and a half ago) and the ground is saturated and a couple of them have some yellowing of the leaves. Does anyone have any strategies for preventing root rot outdoor in the ground? - other than my reverse rain dance that aint fuckin' working.

I saw a you tube vid one time that showed this guy digging out a one and a half ft. diameter wide and two ft. deep hole then replaced the shit dirt with his own dirt recipe... he had these holes perfectly dug every ten ft rows of four for like a quarter mile. prolly a pound on each plant... Mind boggling how much blah blah blah...

that's exactly what I did Marlowe, mixed in coco(3-4parts), homemade compost(2parts) store bought topsoil(2 parts) and humus(3parts) and sand(2parts) -- the drainage would be fine except I fucked up on location. It sets in a grassy patch between two retention ponds. I was hoping to not have to water much or at all through the summer, but had no idea it would be this wet. Our April showers in the great lakes region are coming late May and it looks like into June. It was a little damp when I planted, but we've had 2-3" of rain in the last week. I think 6-8 of the 13 I put out will make it, but 4 are likely gone for sure(unfortunately, all my TGA Subcool strains.)
I'd built the hills up about a foot, but the ground is so saturated it's basically gelatinous and they have sunk to like 6"... It's a battle trying to outdoor guerrilla grow in suburbia- finding a spot no one will go vs. the viability of the area/soil itself is a bitch.

#$#^%%$^&%*^(&)*)(*(*_())(&^(%$%#%$%@ ... forget about it, I highly doubt they'll recover from being 1-2' UNDER water. 3" rain in 3-4 hours and the ponds couldn't get rid of it through the culverts fast enough --- I'm guessing I'm done before the season really got started. #@^$@&$*%)&(*&^$%@!

I suppose so, but I'm pretty bummed. I had almost 2 months of indoor time before I moved them out, 2 days of perfect weather, then rain rain rain. I plan to see if there's anything left tomorrow and bring what I can back inside for a couple weeks to nurse them back to health. It just sucks that $100 worth of good genetics and 2 months of time and effort is probably down the drain.

Haiz all. Just stumbled across this thread. I hear you guys about the rain. Our house was surrounded by water on 3 sides a couple days ago. Hail and SHEETS of rain. The humidity in our flower chamber went up to 70% ish 
But yea...just a shout out. Hang in there. Hopefully we've begun the "dry spells". Here's what we're workin on now 
20 Days into Flower. My wife and I decided to duo our first grow 2gether SCROGgie-style 3 feminized mystery strains. We do know 1 of them is a Royal Hash and she's the biggun. Cool thread...i'll be checkin back. Happy growing!

That really sucks, feel for you. I am sitting about the same, plants get overgrown, but it just keeps on raining. All the plants still look good, don't know why, there in 20 oz cups.
One of my Chemo Iranian got a bit dry and it started flowering, only about 15" tall. Hopefully tommorrow I will find some dry soil.

I'm really scared to put my girls outside for the summer with all of this rain. Its the end of may and its still only 60 degrees, it seems the season is gonna get cut short by a month or so. How much rain can a plant take before its done for? Do you guys think it would be better to put them in pots above ground or in the ground?

I would only be worried about the temps. Once planted they will handle the rain. It looks like next week things are finally going to change, with temps getting into the 80's
And I am sure if it is getting into the 80's for me, since I am pretty far north, it will be getting warm for all midwest growers.
I am concerned about the growing season getting short though, but hopefully since it took so long for spring and summer to get here, maybe fall and winter will take a long time to get here also.

personally i would put them in camoflauge grow bags but thats just me. im sure others would rather put them in the ground.

Yea I've seen plants in a draw go completely under water. If it dries down within a day they will be rockin

Speaking of... mine were flooded out Sunday, under at least a foot of water. It now looks like some of them will make it. A few are done for sure, but I think I'll still get a crop. Went out last night and sprayed them down with a light soap solution then pure water to try get the mud off of the leaves. I thought they were a goner for sure. Speaks a lot about the ability of this plant to survive. I'm glad I did the soil prep I did and waited to move them out as 16-18" plants and not seedlings.

Wow, the last two grows are incredible... This is my first grow, 5 plants = 2 Topcat, 2 OG Kush, 1 Perma Frost. These are clones that were put directly into flowering just to get things rolling and start learning... I do have a sensei who I am apprenticing for. here are pictures at day 10, they are on day 20. they have since been repotted. They're being fed their nutes and are growing in promix.
