sure if you want , I can keep going im just chillin and smokin here ... I have actually posted quite a few "helpful" posts in a lot other threads tonight, i tend to try to make an ass out of people who post stupid shit to try to help them relize how stupid they are and or actions are... if they fail at that then like i said its your /his/whoevers ass. not mine. Grow safe all im tryin to say. this shits supposed to be "stealthy and secretive"...not laying on your back patio in possible view of ANYONE. but w/e...game over now gonna pack up another bong. Fuck. Listen 54, in '08 I rented an apartment that was visited frequently by maintainence, and even the landlord on occasion. After 2 months I started growing, and by that point, I had a good relationship with all the guys that came and did repairs. LONG STORY SHORT, those guys never had a problem with my plants. I know because they were in my kitchen, you couldn't miss them. To be realistic, if I was coming to your place to read your meter and I saw what few plants you had, it would do me no good to report you. Why would I? I'm just reading your fucking meter. I'm not getting a bonus, and even if I reported you, I'd be doing the same shitty fucking job. More likely than not, that guy smokes too. That's why he's not sitting in some office collecting some taxpayer's money. Nope, he smoked in high school, wanting to do something worthwhile, but instead he kept partying and found the best paying job that didn't require a degree. And yes, I do know that most people that smoke are pretty damn intelligent and possess the ability to have a degree, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I MEAN. Yea, time to quit drinking now I guess.

Buddy, if you are in the great state of Texas, it isn't close to worth the risk of getting busted. I might know of a very very similar situation that cost a person two felonies (only 8 plants) and resulted in the house being forfeited under civil forfeiture laws; aka the police seized it. (which I might add, no conviction is necessary to seize property, only a preponderance of evidence) which in your case is there.
Rights are a nice thought, and sometimes you can win playing that card, but typically not without some serious cash. Are 3 plants worth screwing your life?
I would get rid of all things smoke for at least 4-6 months, except maybe enough to flush down the toilet as they knock on your door (if they do). If the guy did tell, they won't come knocking immediately. They will most likely set up an investigation and watch what you do, subpoena your electric bills and possibly your bank and credit card statements, etc...Remember, they have all these resources at their fingertips. If an ambitious prosecutor wants you in jail; you will go.

Funny storry. I was in the mall the other day in a hat store. about 50 feet from the hat store there was a cart. Next to this cart was a clown working(making baloon designs and shit) well he asked one of the kids or parents for some money to make them a balloon. Well the guy in the hat store overheard and shouted out "you shouldn't be asking kids for money... Ima call the security on you" I thought the hat store employee was joking until he stopped with the register, picked up the phone and had about a 10 minute convo with the mall security. Theres PLENTY of folks out there who tell just to tell. Its in them to do so. I never understood why ppl get into other folks business. Where Im from thats how you get shot. Seriously though some crazy shit people say on here... and it goes both ways, I suppose. Sure most people know what a pot leaf looks like, but that doesn't mean a couple cannabis plants will stick out like a sore thumb to your average citizen. Especially with other greenery around and no flowers on the plant; it really would just look like another plant and blend in. When I look at my backyard for instance, I just see a bunch of green. I couldn't identify what any particular plant was unless I got up close and focused.
I can give real world examples of this. Just last year I had a plant in full bloom in my backyard in with some vines and other plants. I was hitting the bong with a friend of mine who doesn't know I grow. We weren't six inches away from it and we were facing that direction, yet my friend didn't seem to notice (he certainly would have mentioned if he had).
Police [usually] really do have to have some ducks in a row before they go busting someones door down. Anonymous tips don't cut it. Do you honestly think they could just say they smelled weed being smoked each and every time they wanted to violate someones rights? Not saying it never happens, and I have even had cops say they smelled weed when I could have *sworn* I hadn't smoked any in the relative period... but the fact was that I had smoked in that car plenty of times and there'd been plenty of weed in that car on previous occasions so it isn't like the officer was flat out lying. His nose was just plain more sensitive to the smell. The key is in the way that you personally handle the situation. They can tell if you're scared shit-less and they're trained to use your fear against you. That was my problem during my very first police encounters (that and I was high on heroin).
Cases involving pounds of cannabis and quantities of other drugs are routinely thrown out of court because the police didn't have the legal grounds to do what they did to uncover the contraband. Sometimes police don't have a legal leg to stand on but they get away with it anyways, because the defendant lets them. Some times cases are thrown out on appeal. Probable cause pertains to commission of a crime. Merely smoking cannabis might not even be a criminal offense in your locality and thus the odor of burnt cannabis wouldn't be grounds for probable cause.

Oh yes they can get a warrant. To obtain a search warrant the police need probable cause. The meter reader telling the police what he saw and swearing out an affidavit would give the police the probable cause they need to obtain a warrant. How do you think people get busted when their electricity bill suddenly goes sky high. If it were me, to be on the safe side, especially where you live I'd get rid of everything and lay low for awhile. Good luck.

He did say anonymous tip, in which case the police would do a tap'n rap. By swearing out an affidavit, the police aren't liable for anything since he can be charged with a crime if he's lying.
