Allrighty Folks! Here she goes! While I normally grow outdoors, i've grown restless while waiting for april. I have almost everything I need for my outdoor operation, and now i'm just going crazy pulling my pud counting down till April.

So i started a little pet project. This is my first attempt at growing indoors and I decided to go the "el cheapo" route by choosing CFL's. This really is just an experiment to pass the time till I can get a real grow going in the great outdoors, but hey, i love to grow!

I must admit, the catalyst to this whole process was the idea of getting clones to "jumpstart" my grow. I started germing some bagseeds from 5 years ago, but in the meantime I picked up one "G-Mac 7" and one "Kushage" clone. Well, not too wise an idea, as clones come with all the problems of shitty Cannabis Club mis-management. I.E. Fungus Gnats, but I think I nipped that in the bud with some neem and spinosad.

So as promised, here's some pics. This first set is pretty much day one. In these pics, I believe I'm running 5 x 26w 6500k and 2 x 23w 2700k. I blacked out a built-in wardrobe with some 8mil black plastic sheeting and a shit-ton of duct tape, and i'm securing it with plastic clips at this point. My girl picked up these clones for me, and they were stretched out as fuck. She knows more about growing than the idiots who run that club, and all that she learned from listening to me read posts on here! The Kushage is on the left, G-Mac on the right.

December 1st. Some of the seeds popped, i put them in soil and threw them in with the clones. I devoted one 26w 6500k to them with that handy desk lamp I had lying around. Other than that, can't really see anything happening, considering I just transplanted them into the pots 2 days ago. Really just took these as comparison pics, but so far slow going.

Dec 3rd and 4th. So a couple seeds have popped their heads up. I have them in with the clones at this point, but since the clones are so stretched out, i wanted to throw them into 12/12 as soon as possible. I guess this is gonna light the fire under my ass so get another grow area set up.

Dec 4 (9).jpgDec 4 (8).jpgDec 3 (2).jpgDec 4 (10).jpgDec 3 (1).jpg

I've also started to see some new growth at this point. I took some pics of the growth tips, all bright and neon green. I believe it was around this time that my girlfriend dubbed the clones "Laverne" (Kushage on left) and "Shirley" (G-Mac on right)

December 7th. Okay, a lot has gone on, payday is in and I went shopping. First thing is first, i bought a fan and ducted it into my room with some 4" flexible dryer vent. I also made a passive exhaust. It blows, but not enough...Took care of that later on. Anyway, here's the fan and the light-trap I made for the exhaust. I also took out the desk lamp and put a 42w 2700k in it's place. Switched out some lights. Now this is my flowering area and it has 4 x 23w 2700k, 1 x 42w 2700k, and 2 x 26w 6500k. Believe i put the girls on 12/12 today.

Dec 7.jpgDec 7 (2).jpgDec 7 (3).jpgDec 7 (5).jpgDec 7 (6).jpgDec 7 (7).jpgDec 7 (9).jpgDec 7 (10).jpg

But thats not even the most exciting part! Notice no seedlings anymore?? Well, I set up another grow area! Since I wanted to throw the stretchy clones into 12/12, i made a little veg box for the clones! Again more 8mil plastic sheeting, duct tape, and some metal clips.

Dec 7 (11).jpgDec 7 (13).jpgDec 7 (12).jpg

There's the babies!

Dec 7 (19).jpgDec 7 (15).jpgDec 7 (14).jpgDec 7 (17).jpg

So here's the setup. Another powerstrip fixture, 2 x 26w 6500k. Again, using the emergency blanket for mylar and I used some screw in hooks to hang everything and secure the cords.

Dec 7 (16).jpgDec 7 (24).jpgDec 7 (25).jpgDec 7 (26).jpgDec 7 (27).jpgDec 7 (18).jpg

And here's a view from the back, the fan and another passive exhaust. This one works great and stays nnice and cool. Also, another light trap that sits flush against the wall.

Dec 7 (23).jpgDec 7 (21).jpgDec 7 (20).jpgDec 7 (22).jpg

Here's the closet, now!

I feel like thats a lot of work for a small yield. Take some of your outdoor sell it and get yourself at least a T5. I think your time is worth more than ounce or two at most that you could yield.

December 12th. A few new things this post. So this is when I noticed the fungus gnats, and i did a soil drench with neem, and got the whitefly sticky traps working. I also bought a Thermometer/Hygrometer, and i noticed my humidity was low, so I set up a little ultrasonic humidifier with stuff I had lying around.

Dec 12 (3).jpgDec 12 (4).jpgDec 12 (13).jpg

So here are some pics of the clones. They've been in 12/12 for about 5 days now and I'm seeing a decent amount of growth so far. Here's some more pics of the progress.

Dec 12 (10).jpgDec 12 (9).jpgDec 12 (7).jpgDec 12 (5).jpgDec 12 (8).jpgDec 12 (11).jpgDec 12 (12).jpgDec 12 (6).jpg

The seedlings got their permanant home as well, home made pots from the dollar store, just onder 1 gallon capacity. Just have them under 1 light each, so far, gonna add more when they're stronger.

This is a pet project, I'm not worried about yield, just wanted to grow something till I can grow in the ground. Wow...first reply and it's a hater already...lol

December 14th. I think I took these pics because I noticed pistols on Shirley, though you can't see them in the pics. I also added a y splitter to the lower growth lamp and put another 23w 2700k down there, and i bought another 42w 2700k for the canopy. Now the grand total is 4 x 23 w 2700k, 2 x 42w 2700k, and 2 x 26w 6500k

Dec 14 (3).jpgDec 14 (5).jpgDec 14.jpgDec 14 (2).jpgDec 14 (4).jpg

Seedlings are looking happy, though lefty is looking retarded. Old seeds and I didn't scuff them, so it had a hard time shedding it's shell. I threw in another 26w 6500k. I'm keeping the lights close because my clones were so stretched, I need some tight compact growth!

they look real skinny.
Yeah, they were abused cannabis club clones. The club had them like 3 feet from the lights, so they stretched like crazy. I bought them to jumpstart a grow, but I shoulda just waited for my seeds. Oh well, they were cheap, and helped me figure out my setup.

December 17th. Noticible increase in pistols. These clones were topped I guess, so I have a bunch of growth tips coming in. It's been about 10 days of 12/12 so far. The G-Mac is ahead of the Kushage, but they're both coming along nicely, considering the condition they were in when I got them.

Dec 17.jpgDec 17 (2).jpgDec 17 (3).jpgDec 17 (6).jpgDec 17 (5).jpgDec 17 (4).jpg

The babies just keep doing what they're doing. No complaints so far

December 24th. So, now we're up to date. Just keep in mind, this was an experiment, and I didn't put very much money or effort into it. Also, the clones were skinny and stretchy to begin with, I pretty much put them into flower as soon as I got them because I germed a couple of my own seeds.

So please don't hate. I'm not worried about yield or anything, seeing as I'm just growing these for fun...I mean, no CFL can compare with growing outdoors, but this is passing the time, and I might eventually turn it into a clone factory with couple mothers in my "flowering" area, and root the clones in the "veg" box. So here they are now, 17 days into 12/12, progressing nicely for shitty clones.

Dec 24.jpgDec 24 (2).jpg Dec 24 (9).jpgDec 24 (8).jpgDec 24 (4).jpgDec 24 (5).jpgDec 24 (6).jpg

And some premie bud porn? lol G-Mac left, Kushage right. Even though Laverne (the Kushage) is behind a few days in showing her pistols, she's looking like she's gonna pack on the trichomes. Nutrient NPK is something like 8-14-9

Dec 24 (3).jpgDec 24 (7).jpg

Here are the little ones. Added another 26w 6500k, making it 4 total now for 104 actual watts. They're both doing ok, lefty had some retarded growth, but I'm thinking that might be because the lights were too close. Raised the lights a touch and thinking about LST. They have little branches starting to shoot out, so I might just tie those down when they get bigger. We'll see.

By the way, this is why growing indoors is just a hobby for me...Lucky to live in the mild weather of SoCal. Just trimmed this outdoor plant one week ago, here's a nugget pre and post trim.

Please don't hate, it's just a hobby guys, and I never really take myself too seriously.

Yup, i'm the first one to say that the club sells fucked up clones, but only time can tell, they're only just over 2 weeks in flower, and about to kick up the nutes, so we'll see. As for the seedlings, yeah, I hope the fat leafed healthy one turns out to be female, looks like some real good genetics there. Got 7 petals on it's 3rd set of serrated leaves.

I was just wondering...Alot of growers on here choose to veg for one month, and flower for 2? I just don't understand how one can just follow a schedule like that. I mean, I usually let my plants tell me i'm ready to harvest, checking the trics and whatnot.

Are a lot of people so impatient that they just pull it when it looks like you could smoke it, or do more people pay attention to the ripeness of their buds?

Right on brother! Thanks for the positive thinking! All they ever wanted was to be loved, but I still abuse 'em when they want it ;) I doubt i'll get anything smokeable off them, and probably just use them to make BHO and Iso Hash. It's the seedlings i'm interested in growing out. The clones are my adopted project, I just saved them from the orphanage where they were being malnourished. The seedlings are my "real" children, and i'll always love them more then their ugly stepsisters (though i'd never tell the clones that!) Haha...Thanks for dropping by and props on the kind words!

I think they've progressed nicely, in my opinion, from when you got them. Although, I am extremely fascinated with LST, so I woulda bent em over as soon as I got them home, lol. But yes sir, those little babies are looking good. Keep it up man, And if you just get to pack a couple bowls, it was fun to do, right? And honestly, I'd rather have fun doing something than become habitual and not appreciate what it is your doing.
