There have been post after that that had my real name...clearly referencing me. As well as other post that have been changed since I ranted today.
I saw it right away yesterday(cause I follow my friend thread) but let it go cause it wasn't worth it and all should know that would never be the case. Then 3 more people took it the same way I did. And I'm not letting that stand. And either would growmau5.
Glad my 5/6 years of being here expensing, showing, proving, doing things other won't step up to... now starting a company has somehow made me a bad guy. God forbid I did exactly what everyone wanted me to do. And now I'm an asshole cause my stupid little blue badge.
Good luck RIU @sunni @rollitup @Admin, I'll be talking my advertisements away and not contributing anymore...told you this shit would happen with those stupid blue badges. literrally word for word call it...check sunni's PM's. So much for the RIU community.
wow, he wasn't even talking about you . that's just the way a couple others interpreted that meaningless comment for no reason. so dramatic.

ROFL. Holy shit I wasn't even talking about you, I was talking about Deadmau5! You ever heard of copyright infringement? And someone else brought your name into this, not me.

This guy posts all the time here and at youtube and not one of you pot-heads say shit for pages when he stops posting? Yeah the RIU crew has people's backs! ROFL@U2

And if you've read this website you know he's done nothing selflessly. He's a businessman and your all part of his plan.
What is your malfunction?

Are people not allowed to make a living?

Seriously??? Why slander???. Or even create the thought of something like this. What the fuck is your problem. Where would you even come up with that shit...who the fuck do you think intoduced GM to DIY??? And does shows with him(my idea)?there are plenty of people on my shit list...but shady legal action(not even possible in this case) and/or tattletaling is not my style. And GM is about as from from that list as possible. I'll call people out and use airline points to show up on the door step to settle things. Delete your pitiful slander pronto bro.

He's busy and has done enough for everyone. I talked to him yesterday. He'll be back when he's back. Or maybe never. But on any account...he's fine and nothing catastrophic at all happened.
It's called life and believing or not...we have one that doesn't center around DIY totorials.
Don't let the trolls get to you. Many many people have benefited by your experience and willingness to share. Don't let the trolls win.

Oh guys, I made a grave mistake... Sorry 5ecret, I really jumped the gun and thought the worst! Sorry GG, I really never even liked DeadMou5, so I never put the two together. Shit, now I feel like an idiot for even implicating GG inadvertently, it was totally subliminal I promise! Still got nothin' but love for everybody. What a tangled web we weave boys.

maybe its the wrong time to jump in with a question, but i love what you guys are doing and could really use the help. i have an Aero/NFT system that is 4.5' long and holds 3 plants. each plant has a sq foot of growing space, this space will hopefully be completely covered using the scrog method and monster cropping. my question here is can i put 1 CXB3590 over each plant and provide all the light they need? would it be necessary to add other LED lights for more blues or reds or something...

I want to get back on track & get my thread back on track. For anyone that is interested, heres what happened with me over the last month.
-my morning routine of logging into RIU, youtube etc and commenting/answering questions began to grow from 30min to and hour + , after posting the how to diy series.
I ended up loosing and incredibly valuable client at my day job as a result of not managing my time and balancing my real life with this online persona. I have spent the last month course correcting and servicing my other clients , restoring balance to my life.

I am still growing, tinkering, building etc and looking forward to easing back into the scene. I really wish I had never made that Mars hack video. 75% of the comments and communication that I get now are: how many cobs can this or that piece of chinese shit I have never heard of run.

SO if you are reading this, dont post that kind of BS here. if you cant figure out how to divide driver voltage by cob voltage, then keep researching.

anyways, cheers to everyone and I look forward to catching up with you all.

My timing is good; I missed all the opprobrium, it seems.

A few comments; becoming a businessman does not automatically equate to being a 'sellout', and in fact often indicates the exact opposite.

Earning a living based on one's skills is completely appropriate and time honored. Why should it be any different just because they're LED panels? I've had people tell me I had no right to earn money on a property lease. I told them to find somewhere else to live, lol

@Growmau5, fame can find you for the strangest of reasons. Don't complain too much; with your 'made for multimedia' persona here and well produced videos on youtube, it's obvious you're looking for recognition- sooooooooo instead of griping, might I suggest instead finding ways to build on your new found notoriety at kit bashing no name Chinese LED panels?

This is way too good a thread for all the negativity I've seen in it lately!

This may not be the best thread for this question, but you want to decide COB spacing based on desired light output. Decide what you want to be throwing down in terms of irradiance, then work backwards through the various design choices.

I'm planning to use all CXB3590 3500K CD bin with no supplementation unless the plants say they need it. Judging by the glowing reports of others using these chips, I'll say I very probably won't notice any deficiencies.

I'm telling you guys, I'm having colossal success with bare chips REALLY close to the top of my canopy in a 4*8 tent. For the love of god, I need to tell someone about this. 1400 mA on 3070s (what I'm using, just the ones from PLC), or 3590s, either way. I just heard Medicropper talking about an upstart recreational grower in Washinton State right now, growing with Gavitas in old walk-in coolers.

Dude said they're pulling 4 pounds a light, utilizing Gavitas I believe, the header on the walk-in to cool the room, and running a lot of CO2 I believe. Here's their deal: $10,000 to set up one of their modular grows. I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting over four pounds per light (20 CXB3070s, I think Mau5 has a similar setup to mine really, I just use a tent). I'm pretty sure anyone here could make it as a licensed producer if they wanted to throw the switch. It seems like most people still can't manage to grow economically viable indoor cannabis at market demand rate, some can, others can't. I feel like COBs could be the thing that fucks up the game and finally breaks cartel pricing, we might see bud plummet even further in price than it already has, but that could be a good thing. Good for guys like us at least.

How close the canopy ?

That is exactly my setup, no a/c, and a 6-inch vortex mounted in the center of the tent, and a single 12-inch oscillating fan. You are seriously cooking with grease at that point, it's a devastating amount of light to unzip from a tent sometimes. It kind of bums me out, I'll have to get up early and water the ladies, I'm all groggy and shit playa like *zwoop* blharrggg muh peeps. Seriously wear some good shades. I'm pretty sure these things are a recipe for cataracts if you aren't careful.

Yeah man, just coco in fabric pots, jacks 3-2-1, maybe some p-k boost in late flower. That's it.

Any chance of a pic mate ? and have you just lowered your light recently or did you adjust it as you went along ? your info will help me decide how to approach mine :)

I wouldn't recommend putting the lights that close, even with good fans, the last thing you want to do is burn the growing tips.....
COBS work just as well a bit higher, and a lot safer for the plants.
