Mature goes perpetual :-)

Decided to start a new thread as my ‘Mazar’ thread has been running for months and we’re moving on a bit. Don’t want to make this too long winded so I’ll quickly outline the motivations and targets etc of the grow.

Flower cabinet: approx 1metre square by 30cm deep. 350watts of CFL’s wired in there (16 individual bulbs!), approx 100watts of 6500k ‘blues’ plus 250watts of 2700k warm whites. 1 Exhaust fan, 1 intake fan plus a metal cased circulation fan.

Clone/seedling box: 40 watts of 6500k blue lighting, just keeps them warm and does its job nicely.

Nutes etc: BioBizz grow and bloom, Canna PK13/14, superthrive, a bottle of PH down, a manual PH test kit and a bottle of clonex ……… that’s about it. Sometimes I like to make up ‘fishy/seaweed’ organic teas as I can pick it fresh off the sandy beach here.

All very simple and relaxed, that’s how I like to grow.


I have a Mazar clone called ‘Trinny’ who is 3 days into 12/12. She’s small but should do OK. She gets the ball rolling.

I have a harvested Mazar going into outdoor reveg. (see pic)

I have 4 Snow White clones (Nirvana) that were gifted to me, been 5 days in the clone box now. (Cheers tamjam mate).

THAT’S ALL! But I plan to introduce new seedplants as I go. I’m approaching this is a kind of ‘larger scale PC case grow’, and inspired by the excellent thread by V12JXS I’m planning to go for a 3 weekly harvest in time, that means 1 plant ‘in’ and 1 plant ‘out’ every 3 weeks, with clones and seeds being prepared in the clone box to replace the one being harvested. Eventually I should have maybe 3 strains on the go with a rotation thing going on. That’s the plan at least. All plants will be kept small using LST, my usual method.

Oh, and I like Indicas, I like the heavy eyed old ‘glued to the chair’ kind of stone, I’m not into rushing, heady sativas at all these days, beautiful though they are, having smoked my first weed over 30 years ago I’ve tried so many strains but I keep on coming back to the nice heavy Indica ‘stone’.

The pics above show the flower box as it stands with fans etc. Note the glass 'heatshield' between bulbs and plants, air is sucked out above the shield, helps keep temps down and glass is just warm to the touch. 3ml very thin glass, easily smashed! Again inspired by V12's thread, great idea.

This old box has been serving me well for 2 years now, never had to buy weed during that time but I'm not a big smoker, just enough to keep me happy, about 14 to 21g per month is all I need

You can see the 4 Snow White clones at day 5 from cutting, keeping them nice and warm in there

Plus a pic of 'trinny' the Mazar clone. She took 3 weeks to root (!) and then vegged for a couple of weeks. The Mazar clones have all been slow to root compared to other strains I have cloned.

Lastly a shot of where 'Delia' the harvested mazar will be left to reveg naturally (ideal time of year for this). Down the line I will take cuts as I dont want to lose this mazar pheno, its good, then reflower her outdoors.

Hey ms. I'm almost sure I read from either your Mazari grow or V12's PC grow about your using canna coco medium? If it is the case and you are using it... How would you rate its performance and how much did you pay for a 50L bag? I left this comment on your visitor messag section not sure you got it though.

Thanks all... going to take a while to get there. Eventual aim is a 12 week cycle, 3 weeks veg followed by 9 weeks flowering. So that will be 3 plants in flower at different stages, plus a few clones/seedplants in the clone/veg box. I want small, compact plants.

tags sorry, read it half asleep early this morning and forgot to reply!It's V12 who's growing in coco now, I'm considering changing over myself though.

I'm in 50% perlite/50% Westlands advanced plus. The clones are in 75% perlite/25% compost.

Subcribed I learn the most from these grows plus i love em !

That's such a cool setup ms. I assume the 2nd cab contains the cutting chamber.

Of course it could all go 'tits up' and I could make a right arse of myself here But I'll give it my best shot.

jjmd, after seeing those beautiful ladies of yours you dont have too much to learn from me

But seriously, this is about attempting to follow V12's perpetual grow method, we seem to smoke about the same amount and if he can achieve that in a PC case then I should be able to do the same in my bigger box! if anyone's not yet seen his thread the links below, its packed full of useful information and unbelievable photos.

My main concern right now is the mite infestation I recently had. I'm cleaning down yet again and spraying the box with pesticide (plant removed). Trinny herself is clear and is being regularly sprayed with SMC. I've been over with a glass and cant see a thing on her, underside of every leaf has been well treated. This is key to any perpetual grow. Come summer I'll introduce a couple of ladybirds to the box ..... best method of control I know of.

Got to say that I think you have it spot on by growing a few different strains. Even great strains get a bit long in the tooth after a month or 2.

Thats the main thing V12, I want to rotate 2 or 3 nice strains (I'm tempted by that Violator Kush )

OK, today I made the decision to move my grow into a different cab, the top section of a converted wardrobe. It's been used before so had all of holes etc pre drilled for wiring, fans etc. Part of this was because of the mite issue, I really wanted to strip everything down for a real good clean and disinfect everything. So I moved it back into the old slightly deeper cab, its still only about a metre sq though but I will get 4 of the smaller 3litre pots in this one to help my perpetual harvest target.

Here's a couple of pics of the work in progress, just need to adjust the bulbs down slightly and raise the plant up I also need to build a front 'shield' to reflect more light back inwards. Airflow is lovely through here, the exhaust is fitted into the top which is more efficient, the intake (bottom left) is fitted on the 'blind' side and by a window that provides a good breeze here by the coast!

Pics of 'Trinny', the mazar clone who's 6 days into 12/12 already and going well. I'm going for several small plants now, growing in 3 litre pots.Also the Snow White clones, now 8 days from the cut and looking nice.

Today I removed the Snow White clones for their snug protective cover and placed them under individual humidiy domes, its 8 days now so I'll gradually begin to harden them off over the next week or so.

Heres the breeders notes on the strain:
Snow White is one of our highest quality selections from the “white” family. The fat pure Indica father gives Snow White a denser statue than its close relative, White Widow. This F1 hybrid is a big yielder with dense sticky buds covered in trichomes. Well suited for hydro or similar systems. Great smooth taste and a powerful indica stone make this strain a nice Widow variation.

All 4 look strong and healthy so I gave them names! MsAngel, Cynthia, Perspicacia and Agatha. Took a few pics of them.


Trinny the Mazar clone is doing well, she's been sprayed twice a week to prevent any mite reinfestation and the new cab in nice and clean .... fingers crossed we should be OK. Shes at 7 days of 12/12 today and has some nice growth taking off now.

Aim now is to get something ready to follow up in 3 weeks time max! Either one of the clones or a seedplant. I'm going to order some Violator Kush fems today.
