Do you have a journal you can upload the pics too? I'd rather not post them in this journal and confuse anyone.

I hope you get some girls man.

Right on, I'll keep an eye on your journal. I'm digging the title.

Got your seeds I see...very good. I germed a total of 5 AI seeds. 2 seeds did not germ and the 3 seeds that did germ were slow to start. If you look back in the thread (first couple pages), there are lots of detail on this. BTW, all 3 successful AI seeds ended up being male plants. I didn't have the greatest of success with this strain. At least, not yet. I have 4 more AI seeds (10-5-1[lost]=4) Maybe in a future grow I will get some female AI's. Thanks for the good luck charm :).

UPDATE...Wait until you all see the pics on Friday's weekly pic update. The flowering plants are starting to look all 'spiky' because of the pistils and the tops are starting to look cool. Man I can't wait to finish this thing up and have me some papaya...mmmmmmmmmm:joint::weed::weed::weed::weed::joint:

Everyone I'm sorry, but I'm a bit forgetful sometimes....imagine that, right?

:joint::shock: I left the camera at a friends house so I can't take the weekly pic update...I'm so sorry. I won't be seeing this person until Sunday, so the pic update is going to have to wait until Monday. Man, that just sucks.

Some updates...papaya5 (the runt) was a male. He didn't get a memorial service...basically because I forgot to take a pic before throwing him in the trash...poor guy.

That leaves me with 3 female papaya's from seed and 1 clone taken from papaya2. The clone still looks like it may take off and do something. It's taking a while to get going however. The plants ALL look amazing and it's hard to believe how fast they are flowering. Papaya2 is the leader of the pack and she is flowering the most and the fastest. She is also the tallest of the 3. Papaya1 looks like she'll have the thickest top cola of the 3, but that's my newbie guess, so it may be completely inaccurate. Papaya4 is doing very good too. 3 plants is enough for me, I just wish I had 1 more to have a total of 4 plants.

Word of advice to those reading...I would suggest planting a lot of seeds if not using feminized seeds. Out of 8 plants I had growing I only got 3 females. It's a good thing I planted so many because if I hadn't I wouldn't have had enough plants to satisfy my yield requirement. I'm debating ordering some feminized seeds to grow POSSIBLY 1 plant after this grow. We'll see how I feel after harvest. I do want to take a grow break, but I also want to have a couple different kinds of smoke. Not only that, but my friends amnesia haze plant makes me want to grow a haze variety. We'll see what I decide.

Pics to come on Monday...man I wish I didn't forget it. Wait till you all see the babies...mmmmmmmmmmm. They are gonna look even more awesome by Monday.

aw that sucks, but i guess they will have grown alot by then and it will be more exciting for us. oh by the way all three AI that I put in paper towel showed their taproots on the second day so I will put em in my coco/perlitemix tommorow. Will post pictures but I can tell it will be slow growth for 1 or 2 weeks as it took a while for them to crack.
Sorry for kinda hijacking ure thread. have a good night

Stilltokin' - no worries about the update of your AI's. I hope you get some girls! I wish I had some aurora's that were girls, oh well. They are definitely slow to start but once they get going, man...haha you'll see. Granted, they also say that males generally grow faster and taller (much more quickly) than females. All 3 of my AI's were males...soo....my grow experience with them is seen through 'male cannabis goggles' haha. The females may grow different.

Pimp - I don't think I'll be able to do another grow 'right after' this one. I thought about it, and, I wouldn't be able to get things started until the end of March (going on a vaca in March). That would put me at June-July harvest time frame. It would be WAY to hot in the attic that time of year. I do have a portable AC unit I could use, however...... I would need to install an attic fan to exhaust hot air from the attic. There isn't one up there now. Keep in mind...all of this runs a lot of electricity....and I don't know how I feel about running all this electric for just 1 plant. Maybe I could grow 2 of them? haha! Nah, seriously, I'll probably take a break after this until the fall.

Pimp, by the way, the environment/conditions are doing fine. My space heater does an excellent job of keeping temps above 70. Every once in a while it runs to long and it gets to hot in there (nearing 90 or sometimes over every once in a while). This doesn't seem to happen often and the temps are normally in the 70's. My humidity usually averages somewhere in the 20's. I haven't noticed any problems with lower humidity and I also read something saying it helps with resin production. Every time I go to the grow spot I always mist things down real good. If I noticed low humidity/temp problems, I would have fixed it and all my journal buds (haha) would know (and will know).

Things are great and they love their Fox Farm. I still am giving nutes every watering...2 teaspoons of tiger bloom and 2 tablespoons of big bloom to every gallon of water. I haven't even been checking PH...I probably should do that soon. I have an electronic PH meter. I'm not concerned about the soil because Oceans Forest has a perfectly balanced PH. I checked my water a while back and it is right about 7 PH. The nutes actually lower PH in water, so I'm pretty confident things are fine. Besides, my babies are clearly growing well.

i have never checked my ph either. my water is at 7 and i havent seen any problems. good to hear your environment is stable.

i've started upping my nutes to every water now that i know your secretly doing it somewhere.

Here you go everyone! I got some decent pics but I somehow didn't get a good individual shot of Papaya4 (see old pics for plant numbering in the pic filenames). I did get good shots of Papaya1, Papaya2, the clone, and some group shots (Papaya4 is the furthest to the right in the group pics).

We are on day 17 of 12/12 and day 18 from the long dark period prior to switching to 12/12.

I have the shorter plants on top of buckets to raise them closer to the light. The only plant not on top of a support is Papaya2, she is 32 inches tall. Also, Papaya4 is 24 inches and Papaya1 is 18 inches.

It looks like Papaya2 has more sativa properties coming out as she is taller than the rest (the plants are just about the same age). Not only that but papaya2 and papaya4 both have skinnier leaves and are substantially more stretched. However, both of them have some very nice side branching going on that I can tell is going to give me some nice cola's. Papaya1 is the stockiest and looks like she's going to give a very nice main cola (as you can tell).

I also added 1 45w CFL to help give some extra lighting for the clone. It's a pain to have to keep finding things to raise the clones' pot to put the clone closer to the light (after I raise the light because the plants are getting getting close to the bulb).

:leaf::leaf::leaf:MMMMMMMM BUDS:leaf::leaf::leaf: Enjoy!

looking good! you have some real tall women there!

i read a thread before on trimming the leaves on clones. i tried this with half of mine and didnt see much difference (somewhat poor conditions though) but i think the biggest reason was to minimize the amount of light the clone was able to soak up so that the majority of its energy can go to the roots. its a little late now, but i've also read that alot of people prefer soil less mediums for cloning, rockwool type sure but also perlight, coco, etc. i'm no clone master, but i think enviroment has more to do with its surviaval than anything else... good luck with her... shes looking like most of mine did that i cloned in dirt..

hey mary, your plants are looking good!!! my water starts out at a ph of 8.1, after adding 4 teaspoons of tiger bloom, 2 teaspoons of big bloom and a couple of tablespoons of molases the ph drops down to 5. i bring it back up with a bit of baking soda.
