Mandala seeds satori grow

When I took the cutting last night they were bent from reaching towards the light but overnight they've straightened right out and are looking very happy. I took 2 cuttings of each Satori. One is clearly more Sativa (Indica Indica) with more sporadic, viney growth and more internodal stretch. The other maintains the Sativa dominant leaf structure but is much more stout and bushy with less internodal stretch. The latter smells stronger then the other but this could be a response to the small pot; stress. Got the colloidal silver in the other day and will be getting started on those lady balls soon. :bigjoint: :peace:

I grew out a pack of satori, got around six females I think, four were the christmas tree structure with pagoda/spear shaped buds, sativa leaves, and very powerful sativa highs. Two were shaggy fat leafed indica looking plants, producing one massive cola with minimal branching, and a high that had much more of a full spectrum effect, starting out as a racey and uplifting sativa but evening out to an uplifting but calm and creative buzz that lasted for quite some time. Tastes on this strain are very unique, there's lots of citrus accents including oranges, lemons, and limes, but not in a sweet candy or astringent cleaner way, but a more mellow dry herb way if that makes any sense; blended with a variety of herb/spice/insense tastes. Its very exotic, and I've never really had anything else like it.

It also breeds strongly as a fast flowering sativa, it can tighten up the bud structure and lower the stretch and flowering time on other longer flowering sativas without bringing down the high, similar to how some breeders use c99 or apollo, but with a very different high and flavor profile.

It was around two years ago, but I did manage to track down a harvest pic of my satori. Bag appeal wise its definitely not bad at all for a mostly landrace strain.

As of right now both my girls are preferring temperatures in the low to mid 80's F. Anything lower then 70 degrees F is stressing them out. I put one of my girls into flower on the 3rd of July. She is loving the warmer temperatures and the HID. Both of mine seem to be very sativa dominant with viny, stretchy growth that has been difficult to maintain with lst. They are hardly ever hungry - whether or not that is a reflection of my soil mix, their low nutrient needs or both - I'm not sure. I prefer the psycho active buzz of a sativa anyday but lets hope they flower on time. :bigjoint: Pic is of the one just placed into flower last week. :joint:

Satori 1 and 2 are now both in flower. Different colored leaves and different odors when I rub the stem. Have done well so far maintaining an even canopy. Plant that is more compact has lighter colored leaves for the record. Drinking approx. 1.5 quarts every 2-3 days. No nutes yet but will be giving them some tea with their next water. Lights are still at 75% although last night I was able to give them the full 600. Hope the others are doing well. :peace:

Hey All,

I was thinking of ordering something from Mandala Seeds. I like landrace plants. They seem to really know their shit, one of the most informative sites I've ever searched. From what I see in this thread I think some seed from them would be great. Any suggestions on strains?I was thinking fruitilicious.

Thanks

Anything by Mandala is a winner imo. I'd say they're up there with TGA. The owners, Mike and Jasmine's favorite strain is Satori if that helps. Check out this interview - http://www.mandalaseeds.com/Articles/Interview-with-Mandala-Seeds

All four of the Satori cuttings rooted as did most of my others so now I'm stuck with a few extras that I might have to toss. I'll be using the cuttings for my pollen collection and depending on timing and how quickly Odin gets these sbr cuttings out of here I will be pollinating either the mothers or the cuttings themselves. I'll post pics after I transplant them to their final containers before flower starts for breeding. I have an 818 headband REG that hasn't shown sex (Hoping for a male), a potent lemon that I've grown a few times already, a Short stuff auto and sbr that will be going in for pollen and seed collection - standard or fem. :peace:
