UB, from a common sense perspective... Why would an employer need the minimum wage to be raised? Do they NEED to be forced to pay more and are they actively ASKING for the wages they have to pay to be raised?
Or, is there an ulterior motive?

There are two plays at work. Business says, "we pay according to the law, and not a penny more. It's not our problem." The other is like I said that businesses who can barely stay afloat must absorb the new cost, so businesses who already pay more like Wal-Mart get government to rid them of competition. While government gets more tax money, akin to printing money. The only ones who suffer with minimum wage are those who make just over minimum get a pay cut.
