a main-lined plant will be quite a bit shorter than one left alone......if you want to have a longer veg time, to get longer donkeys, you can......but this is where the strain becomes uber important.....it works best with a strain that exibits "single-cola dominance"......and resits secondary branching..........

....for an example, i plan to run an 8 plant outdo.....i will crack the seeds on the last day of may (will be using clones also).......build them and veg them for 7 weeks in the greenie, transplant to 20 gal smarties, dep them for three weeks to get them started, from 23rd of july to aug 14, then set them outside......they will be two feet tall, at the time i start the dep.....16 heads, and finish around 40 inches on Oct 1st, yeilding 12 zips each......

....always helpful to have a game-plan, and expectations..........being full ready to "bob and weave", making adjustments along the way.....i am thinking about starting an outdo journal, but only if the interest is there......anyone interested?

I would love to see that forsure! Great thread nuggs it's been fun to follow...Keep it up

budologist has already shown his take on Nugz method, and he's growing outdoors, maybe if we ask nicely he'll keep a seperate update on his TGA forest thread for the plants that are being trained via this method.

Transplanted my 2 plants last night. They germed at the same time Have the blue dream mainline going into a 5 gallon pot, and a cali connection blackwater thats slightly lsted into a 3 gallon. Supersoil in the bottom 25%, followed by a base/supersoil blend in reducing ratios as I filled the pots. We'll see if they like their new homes (fingers crossed). My first ever batch of supersoil, and I've already realized my guano was double strength.... thankfully I was about 30% conservative with it, and added about 20% more soil a week after mixing the batch up (as well as more dolo, more azomite, and other micro additives).

Blue dream is a little discolored... hopefully it'll pull out of it.

looks great, sounds to me, they are going to love their new homes.....they may take a few days, but once they hit their stride, you will be amazed at what ss can do.

......if you remember, the other ace was a bit smaller being sprouted in a hard-side pot, not a smartie......so she is about 4 days behind.....so i decided i would flower the two girls seperately......so i prunned this one for sixteen, and plan to veg her quite a big bigger than her sister.....that way we can see the differences between 8 and 16 heads, and analyze their structures side by side.......i will flower each of them in 7 gal. smarties, and figure they will be about three weeks separated at harvest........happy 420 everyone!

..........a couple important notes.......if sixteen equal heads are desired.....we just barely have enough time to get all the cuts in before she starts to go asymetrical, so this becomes very important from the beginning, our plan for 4, 8, or 16......that is......the more heads, the earlier we start........

......also, if we want to keep her symetrical longer, remove each fan leaf that powers the corresponding stem immediately after the bends are made......it will help "woodie" up the stem below the leading shoot, thus suppressing asymetry.

at what point should I consider removing fan leaves? I believe I'm just going to shoot for 8 heads, as I want to flower no later than may 1st, and I think addittional topping may delay them "hitting their stride". Would you reccomend an early pruning of fan leaves at all if I plan to flower by may 1st?

it looks like you are real close to mine time wise.......may 1st sounds just about right.......for both of us.....8 headers....

...as far as the fan leaves go, think of it this way.....there will be a fan at the base of each stem......if you want that particular stem to grow or stretch, keep it on, if you want it to stop stretching, remove it........i am happy with the structure of both my plants, i don't need the main stems of the base to grow much more except in girth.....so i removed the corresponding fans.......but i need the 8, and 16 tops respectively to grow up into donkeys, so i will leave their fans attached.....hope that makes sense, i am still quite ripped from my 4:20 bong session 4 1/2 hours ago!
