"Main-Lining" Ace Of Spades (tutoral)

a main-lined plant will be quite a bit shorter than one left alone......if you want to have a longer veg time, to get longer donkeys, you can......but this is where the strain becomes uber important.....it works best with a strain that exibits "single-cola dominance"......and resits secondary branching..........

....for an example, i plan to run an 8 plant outdo.....i will crack the seeds on the last day of may (will be using clones also).......build them and veg them for 7 weeks in the greenie, transplant to 20 gal smarties, dep them for three weeks to get them started, from 23rd of july to aug 14, then set them outside......they will be two feet tall, at the time i start the dep.....16 heads, and finish around 40 inches on Oct 1st, yeilding 12 zips each......

....always helpful to have a game-plan, and expectations..........being full ready to "bob and weave", making adjustments along the way.....i am thinking about starting an outdo journal, but only if the interest is there......anyone interested?

i think this might have answered my question but I was going to ask:

should I be doing more heads for outdoor? you do 8 for your indoor, but those plants are only yielding 4 oz or so... so they are 1/2 oz heads... when your going for a lber plant outside do you want more heads? say 32?!?

and nugbux once again thank you... I couldnt rep you harder- this thread and subcools thread on how to make supersoil are the two most informative, mind-opening threads I have read at RIU so far

WTF is going on with the pics, I was half way through the journal when the update happened. I'm from southeast michigan and was wondering where you got all the supplies for the supersoil? I am very interested in the outdoor journal if you have time

good deal we would hate you to leave bro
i just hope riu has their stuff figured out....yeah the trolls suck, but there is going to be a-holes everywhere you go....but it gets really frustrating when you can't use the site, or you lose info and pics.......personal grows are one thing, but it really blows to lose a tutural.

update
....."16" going into flower tomorrow, she gets the test cab to herself until she outgrows it after a week, then she is greenhouse bound.
....their clones have been pruned for 8...
....the "three main" clones of d-train are coming along.....they will have 12 heads....
....and "8" is fucking mental.....exploding in a big way....this will be a special plant, i can feel it......her arms are like 2x4's.

Lurker here. Been enjoying the pace and photography in play for showing this off.

At least right this minute, the pics are back up on page 1-5 using the default results per page setting (20?) ...

And since I'm squeaking up, this bonsai/control technique from early veg is one of the better ones. Even for some outdoor crops. Canopy control with some strains especially should be noted as needed, not just a stylized method. Somewhat mentioned, but I find many dont understand that their giant hybrid flower on a main is not always best use of space/light and rather prone to all the usual issues with rot and such. And for outdoor, once they get fairly woody on the lower branch epidermis is especially problematic in many ways to correct canopy. Having to use a come-a-long or cement blocks to pull a branch over just isn't practical. Nor is breaking some that far along.

Though Mother Nature sometimes has her own ideas sometimes of course.

So, I guess the point is that lots of misc followers hoping your continue with the well laid out approach you're taking. And the pics seem to be back right now as they make progress with this migration and the upgrades.

Cheers.

i agree, training and pruning done while the stems are pliable and juicy, then when they get woody, use it to your advantage....like building a strong foundation.....and yes, this method works best for "single cola dominant" plants, not to say it doesn't work for plants that have secondary branching dominance, but this method places structure at the top of the priority list....thanks for joining in, cheers to you, nugs.

really excited to do an update on "8" in two weeks, when i prune out some understory at three weeks flower.....the structure is a thing of beauty.....

Hey nug, are there some varieties that tend to be single cola that you can recommend? I don't think I have ever noticed any descriptions that mention being single cola dom.

What happens if you prune for 8 or 16 and it's not a single cola dom?

i would say, as a very general rule, that indica dom. plants do well with this method.....sativa dom. plants generally have more secondary branching, and can be wiry and whispy.....i look for thick stems, and shorter internode spacing....that is desirable......with that being said, there are plenty of sativa dom strains that have sturdy structure, and tall towering colas that could work alright.

shoot, you can't really tell how big she is....she is pretty damn big..for perspective, the plant next to her to the right is in a 5 gal smartie......
