LP "starting materials"

Ok everyone I am pretty new here, when I filled out my forms for acmpr i had to check off the box stating that I will require "starting materials". So the part that I find frustrating is that, many people both on and off MMAR have worked very hard to cultivate strains that are tailored to our specific needs and growing environment.

I'm not aware if any of the LP's are currently selling "starting materials" but i think that providing limitted varieties is almost useless to the patient.

These companies act as if they own the trademarks to pot. some LP's even go as far as to change the names of strains claiming the original names as "street names".. where as we know strain names have more to do with breeding and lineage than whatever name a "dealer wants to call it".

i don't expect much from this new "interim" measure. and who is to say there will be anything available anytime soon?

just my thoughts

Yeah I'd love to hear a LP selling clones and teens
really?

with tilray recently seeking approval to use nova.. i recommend to stay far far away from LP clones if that happened. (or atleast theirs. they likely have powder mildew if you don't know what nova is for.. and that shit is like herpes. no way to get rid of it, only treat)

I will never buy anything from an LP. I got my ACMPR papers in August finally and no one said anything about joining up with an LP like I've been reading about in the forums.

Debating whether to file to grow as a friend wants me to be her DG but she's going to see if she can get her daily limit raised before we do anything. She could only get 1.5g/day from a doctor here in northern Alberta here but I got 8g/day from a doctor in BC. I joined a compassion club and a dispensary in Kelowna so if I want anything I can order from them. Probably just want more CBD e-juice for my e-cig as that shit works great for my arthritis and doesn't mess with my head.

I'd rather not get all mixed up with Hellth Canada so really just planned to keep growing under the radar and wait to see what kind of laws they come up with next year. If they end up banning home growing I don't want to be on their hit list.

:peace:

Seeds are easy to get, no need to go to an LP for those. Clones on the other hand. Not so much. Just be careful, myself I would wash the clones with 3% hydrogen peroxide to kill any PM then a insecticide for any bugs. Hold the clones in quarantine for a few days then one more dose of insecticide.

I usually do this for all clones I get from anybody...unless I trust the source.

If your scared to use an insecticide, you could wash the clones once more before transplant to veg.

THC biomed in BC is selling seeds, clones, and teens, all from a reputable wellknown breeder stock from The Netherlands. They do not sell dried flower only starting material. Give them a look.

Great tip redi! A quick dip before introduction to your garden, might be the single most important thing you can do.

DONE !!!! after looking at my xrays the doctor used a bunch of big words that I cant spell or pronounce, to discribe it and signed. After all those big words he thought15grm/day would be nice, and so did I....... Cost me $50, which is nothing, cost of lunch for two people. On a side note, the doctor was from India and seems to think cannabis is a good idea.............
After 40 years smoking and 30 years growing I am LEGAL -- what the fuck -- ?????????????????

crop king's seeds are from spain and repackaged for sale here. their white widow did not live up to the hype. not very stony and was a magnet for mites.
I have a mazar I sharef that i have had for 20 years that is heads and tails better than most strains, in my humble opinion. makes the best hash that I have found.
So many seed companies are just marketing companies with seeds. True breeders are rare, great genetics rarer. So much of what is out there has been bastardized by mistake or on purpose and offer little if any genetic stability.
the future will be in landrace strains that are true to their origins and available to the masters of plant breading. As the dark ages of prohibition are defeated many who once hid will bring their skills into the mainstream. You know who you are.......

I know someone who has grown out a lot of their gear and it's all pretty shit. I've seen people say ok things about their WW but that's about it. And I suspect it sucks as I tried some shatter and I wouldn't have smoked it again by choice.

Great source for genetics that are cheap, canadian and awesome: PeakseedsBC.com

Mike will hook you up. Highly recommend his Skunk hybrids, pure lines and if you like indicas his Kush hybrids are nice too. Probably the NL/BB is as well. He's also got some lines he doesn't list which are worth asking about but I don't really recommend currently as they are C99 based and C99 is a PM magnet. C99 better suited to guys with very dialed rooms, not newbs IMO.

Far as the government demanding we bow to LPs for genetics.... well it's disgusting the way the genetics side of this issue has been handled. But not surprising. God forbid people can do what they want to do.
