This is my first ever grow. I obtained the seeds a while back from Attitude seeds because I heard they were the best to order from. I'm going to start with two of the Lowryder's, I have a couple other freebies that I got from Attitude when I ordered. I have a picture of the closet that I am growing in. I will also list the things I am using to start this. I've been waiting for the time in order to start these. I will be updating this as much as I can, with pictures as well. Enjoy

The following items are what I have for right now.
x2 85 watt CFL Daytime Spectrum & Flowering Spectrum
Automatic light switch (Don't have to worry about turning the light off & on myself)
FoxFarm Potting Soil
Nirvana Flowering tabs
Germination kit (Nirvana shop)
Heater (To regulate temp for when light is off)
x2 Survival blankets for walls (reflection)
LLbean Thermometer

I'm not sure exactly how big of pots I am going to get yet. I have x2 already but I'm not exactly sure if I am happy with the size of them. Even though they are Auto-flowering and wont get that tall in general it seems that I have read the BIGGER the pot the BIGGER the plant due to better root production. I am starting to germinate the seeds tonight I am just waiting to grab some distilled water because it seems to have the best PH.

If there are any suggestion along the way that may benefit my grow I am more than welcome to listen to what people have to bring to the table.

Good to see you are getting started. I am on my 2nd grow now and really you learn as you go. But there is a lot of useful information on this site and I will help you if needed. Pictures would be great though. I only grow with 4-23 watt CFL's and they are all 6500 K for vegging. But everything sounds great so far. I will subscribe and come in here from time to time. You can see my grow and setup in my signature. Later the Shark!

Good karma to your first grow....You chose a pretty hardy auto to start with but please start your seedlings in a buffer soil before putting in FFOF...it's a bit hot for seedlings, especially with soil tabs. Read the germination kit directons completely......
And...I grow ALL my autos in 4" pots with great success .....but I will agree, if you have the space, larger will do ok too.......You can run your lights 24/0 if you wish as long as the heat is ok....LR2 is one of the most stable strains of autos and is sure to please. Learn the weight of your pot before and after watering.....you'll be good.....

Good reply Old. A quesion is the AK-47 auto, or is a Fem. I just thought that the auto strain was AK-48. But as far as pot size goes I guess it all depends on how long you will be vegging. I veg for like 3 months maybe more that is why I use a 16 inch pot. But your space may not permit a pot that size.

Thank you for all the useful information. I really want to be able to do this right the first time. Right before this last post I just started the germination kit since I have heard of the great success from using it. I will not be putting in the flowering tabs right away since like you had said it would hurt them. I am aware that FoxFarm soil has 30 days of nutrients in it already. So when they actually start to flower is when I will use the tabs. I was wondering though what type of water I should use to water them in general? I have distilled water at the moment. I have x2 8'' pots so I believe I should be good. Keep the suggestions coming though. I will be putting 2 florescent long bulbs on each sides of the wall in order to get light coming from all sides (even though the mylar does help). Here are some pic'sIMG00056-20110219-1939.jpgIMG00057-20110219-1939.jpgIMG00058-20110219-1941.jpgIMG00054-20110212-1416.jpgIMG00059-20110219-1941.jpg

The reason why they are Auto-flowering from what I get from everything is the pure fact that they are crossed with the genetics from the lowryder. All the seeds are indeed Fem I bought them that way as well.

Also as another note to everyone that is reading this, dont worry about the first reading on my thermometer due to the fact thats just how cold it is outside. The number below is the real temp within the closet

Closet is staying at a temp of just a little bit over 80 at the moment. Everything looks to be going fine for the germination no signs of life yet since its hasn't been even past 24 hours. I have the timer on the light set for 20/4 right now. The heater will take over for the heat while the light is off though. Once again to the people above thank you for your posts and I would love for you to stick around and hopefully more people when I get a sprout going to join as well. I need all the help I can get =D

Day 2 (germination)- Today I woke up and checked my closet. It has a temp of 81 degrees. The germination kit soil was dry so I added a little water to it in order to make it moist. This will be my "daily" watering for today I guess you could say. I hope to see some results today, if not today hopefully tomorrow. I just want to see the signs of life =D

ok ak47 auto i got one of these in a 12.5inch pot itsapprox 12inch high to works out about 18litres of soil mine doesnt seem to want to grow upwards its more or less a lil bush compared to my maxi GoM which is like 14inches tall both showed signs of flower in the first week

also if you put a bit of cling film over your pots to keep your moisture in it helps

Thank you for the advise I will take it and put it to great use. I will get some film to put over it to lock the moisture in. I will take all the information I can to gain better knowledge for my next grow that I am already thinking about after this one (i know really soon) but I will have the funds to upgrade the room to become eventually a very "strong" grow room. Keep the suggestions coming everyone its well apprieciated

Day 3 (germination) Still no signs of life yet =/ germination kit was once again a little dry so I put a little bit more water on them. The light is still off so they are still in darkness. I just can't see obviously inside of the soil to see what is actually happening so I'm not even sure at this point if they are actually starting to pop or not. Next time I believe I will use the paper towel method so I can keep an eye on them to see what is actually going on. I still have faith with the germination kit I just thought they would pop within this 3 day period because I have seen many other stories where this was the case. The germination kit does say it could take up to 10 days in some cases though. So I am not giving up and I still have 2 other beans in case these two don't end up germinating. I was wondering if anyone had a little advise for me at this point. Or I just think im getting a little impatient because of all the excitement running through me.

I am going to post photo's but the first one with the light on is just to show how close to the light my germination kit used to be when I had the light on. I shut it off for the meanwhile due to seeing many posts where people didnt use light at all. Temp is a little lower without the light off but the mini heater in the closet is keeping it to what it should be. I also as you will notice in the pictures for day 3 I put the pods in a zip-lock to lock in moisture because the pods started to contract instead of staying expanded.

Sorry for the quality it's only from my blackberry at the moment. Also I will be able to move the light up and down I just did it the lazy way for the moment, I was waiting till they sprout until that change though.

IMG00063-20110221-1517.jpgIn one of the pods I believe I have seen my first signs of life! The other one hasn't yet but hopefully I will see some action soon. Here is a picture that I just took 5 mins ago of what it looks like. Im hoping this is what I have been waiting for. bad quality I know im trying to work on a camera situation. Anyone else be able to confirm that this is right? I turned the light back on.

So I can confirm that one of them has life. The other one has yet to pop yet =/. I put them both in at the same time though so I hoping that they would both sprout at the same time but I guess now. So I will keep them both in the zip-lock bag for the time being until I see life in the other as well or until the one that first pop shows it's first set of leafs. Once that happens I will transplant it into my other pots that I have posted pictures off in earlier replies. For everyone that is still looking over this thank you very much. I am sure I will need some help along the way.

Day 4*germination DONE*: So I have gotten confirmation from my partner that the 2nd seed has popped and now both of them are just under the light (took them out of the zip-lock). Unfortunately I wont be able to post pictures for the past couple days due to me having to go back to college for the week. So my partner is taking care of my "children" for the time being. I will try and get pictures as soon as I can. I am not transplanting them until I see the first nodes. So they are still in the germination kit soil. As you can see and read it only took 4 days for my seeds to actually germinate. I would highly recommend the germination kit I used unless you have no problems already with the way you are doing it already. So now the REAL journey starts. Hopefully 7 weeks from now I'll have some good dank buds.

Thanks for letting me know that you were starting a journal, it took me some time to come around coz I was waiting to have some time to read through all the posts :) Congrats on the germination, things are looking good. I've just started a journal with one lowryder #1 in my pc box and the plant is just 3 days older than yours, took also 4 days to show life :) you should check it out.

HEY! nice to see that you joined I was wondering when you were gonna stop by. I will deff check out your journal! I was getting really impatient when it came to the germination stage lol. I just wanted them to start growing. I think it still hasn't hit yet that it's going to take a while for them to grow lol. Since it's my first grow though im guessing that is normal to be really excited & to feel accomplished enough though I have just started the race. Since you planted yours 3 days earlier it will still be a big help to my grow as well. We will be able to feed off each other. Im going to subscribe to yours as well. Thank you for coming aboard =D
