Looks like they also have lower quality construction. The heatsink is just a 5mm aluminum plate with no fins.

Also as far as I had researched, you really don't know if these knockoff boards are really LM301b chips. Or if they are, they may not be the same bin that HLG uses. I also think it sucks that they literally use HLG's brand and product names in their marketing. At one point I was thinking of buying one of these boards of Alibaba but after considering everything I stuck with HLG for my new lights.
Based on what I have seen on other threads, I am sure it will grow you lots of nice herb. Best of luck!

I agree. I'll know that this isn't an actual "HLG". If I really like it, then I'll probably even upgrade to the actual HLG, knowing that I'll get even better results. I'm having to make this move right now, because if I don't, I'm going to have to cut all the holes and vents, and mount all the fans, to continue using my 1k hps. I had to reverse my grow room back to a normal room, because I was refinancing my home, and mortgage companies won't approve houses where they are, or ever have been, growing. This was the second time I had to reverse the room back to normal. Grrrr... But I got approved, and that should be that.

Amare is a great choice. In a 5x5 the SE-500 is very nice. I own the SE-450 Powered to 480.
But for coverage of a 5x5, x2 , Pro-4's destroy it.
Now they have lights you cant view on the site yet.
Lightweight Bar-8 design as well as a UVA+B model.
The Bar-8 's are more efficient then the COB lights & cover the most evenly out of all current options available.
Amare is the king of Spectrum Imo. NOt to be confused w/ SpectrumKing.
Reason being is all the testing they've done has lead them to provide the fullest spectrum. Which in turn leads to massive Bag appeal, plants finishing on time, larger yields with higher terps/flava.
I would not consider purchasing anything plain white if i were you.
If it does not include IR , it is not a Horticultural grade light IMO.
The lights with white, 660 & 730 do pretty well to. But i would Not get one that lacks the IR.
Many companies fail to incorporate it do to the par meters not picking up nm's beyond 700 or below 400nm. Which is wrong. So in order to be able to write the highest efficiency #'s on the websites , they ignore much needed nm's/colors.
Apogee is releasing a meter that picks up a wider range & that will change how many of these companies perceive Par.
Gonna be an eye opener fir HPS/MH/CMH efficiency #'s as well.

Yeah, I really like the Amare! And I really do like the ir + uv. Looks really beneficial, when done properly. I'm definitely keeping that one as an option. It'll be in a 4x4 rdwc.

I think I'm going to go with the Amare SE500UV, for my 4x4 tent. I'll be replacing a 1k EH hps. I'll have to read up on when to use the IR and UV and for how long.

Nice! If you contact Amare directly you will have more options for about the same cost.
That is a kick-ass light though & is one of my favorites.
The IR is part of the spectrum & the UV on that model can be put on a timer as its on a separate channel. Monos, cobs & the T-8 have separate switches.
The UVB could be ran the whole time too because it's not a damaging amount.
The Bar-8 UVL is what I'm getting next.

You can DIY it for $100+ less if you order parts separately. I'd put it on 2 of the XL (triple) heaksinks myself instead of all 4 panels on one.
